They look good from a distance or if you glance at them quickly from a moving train but close inspection reveals how basic they are. Until we get the 3rd generation of train sims and much quicker PCs which allow standing grass effects out to the horizon nothing will compensate for good old long grass in all it's 3D glory.
It's still a brilliant picture though.
