Sounds like we'll have to run the steam gala on the YCR as well!

In addition to what Davvydo has posted I've had flick through Morrsline which is the NYMR's magazine. The event is called the Gresley 100 and runs over 8 days.

16th & 17th April - Gresley at war. To celebrate 60 years since VE day.

23th & 24th April - North East Coast Trains. Holiday specials, LNER engines and teak coaches including Green Arrow.

29th April to May 2nd - Four days of intensive running, Visitors to be finalised but hopefully lots and lots of LNER loco's.

The diesel gala has not been replaced but moved back to May 13th to 15th and is set to be the most varied gala yet. Plus the railway is opening on the weekend of the 5th and 6th of March to mark the 40th anniversary of the Beeching axe.

So lots to look forward to this year and thats without all the usual stuff thrown in :)

- I'm not on commision, but I do work there. Does that count?!

Seconded. The sound packs on some of those engines really bring it to life (and I'm a sucker for the over-generous use of my locos ;) )

The soundset is Wolf Grondes Dampfsound2 set for the BR41 Reko loco. I got it from a German freeware site and adapted it for use with the A8's by removing the compressor and altering the whistle pitch. I've also put in A.I sounds with random whistle and external shovelling or injector sounds, It's my first attempt at rewriting steam sms so maybe it could be improved. I got permission to include them by sending a roughly translated e-mail and got a reply in perfect English  Whether or not they make it to the CD depends on how much space is left as with a lot of the extra stock but it should all appear on UKTS after John uploads the YCR route.

Big thanks to Matt Spencer for hosting the clips. Should be on UKTS soon too, I might even make YCR the movie 2 :)
