I have uploaded the first batch of ClagMakers.
These are Air Braked big engines. More to follow.
Vacuum braked versions to follow.
Should be easy to make an diesel to add the extra smoke..
Use the default SD40 AI loco .eng file and reduce the power settings to a minimum.
Copy the Size, CentreOfGravity and InertiaTensor lines from the clagmaker and use the clagmaker.s and .sd files
Add the blank.ace
Rename all but the ace file.
Replace the exhaust entries with those in the loco you wish to add it to and tweek the 1st and 3rd numbers until you get it right.
Serve chilled.

Very useful indeed, thanks Ian. This is giving me a further idea to achieve rather better something I've been trying to do in YHHYT3, if you've no objection to me producing a version for the class 21?
By the way, I'd suggest strengthening the coupling break values on the clagmaker, as the old MSTS points problem seems to hit it, or at least did when I was trying a class 37 with a couple of clagmakers on Far North and Barmouth-Ruabon... and got a rather odd effect, where, even once I'd gone back to pick up my uncoupled train, one of the two clagmakers would somehow be 'bounced' away from the loco, and gradually get further and further away, passing through each of the coaches before disappearing. Kinda like ball lightning. I think. Looked like this anyway:

NB the pic shows the back of the train, not the front.
All good fun.

ooops.
I used the 380 .eng file from my original installation backup for the air braked version so it has the default settings.
I'll include a corrected version with the next batch which should overwrite it. Try running Route Riter to improve it for now.
It has a very small bounding box. Those coaches probably ran over it without hitting it.

trouble is that is if the eng file was set up for a lot of diesel clag, when you change textures it can get a bit rediculous! but if restraint is used it can work.
New XXXXXXX route under construction...

That looks brilliant!!
Could yo uplease explain how you have altered the Eng. files to achieve this ( i'm not to well up on this sort of thing!)
And also, can you change the colour of the clag?? i want to create masses of Deltic clag and i was wondering if there was any way to achieve this without using an invisible loco.
Thanks for any help.

How do you edit the engfile to make the smoke denser and blacker?

Open it in wordpad....(you can use notepad if your on winxp).
Look through the eng file an you'll find
DieselSmokeEffectInitialMagnitude( 0.6 )
DieselSmokeEffectMaxMagnitude( 1.0 )
DieselSmokeEffectInitialSmokeRate( 0.2 )
DieselSmokeEffectMaxSmokeRate( 1.0 )
And just increase them to your desire....
