I don't know if one of them ended up there, it may have done although they weren't that powerful. Originally built as the power units for push-pull / auto trains they weren't very successful in that guise and some were converted from 2-2-0 configuration to 0-4-0s. I think about 12 were built and at least 1 was sold in 1914 to the WD where it was used at various military depots in the home counties, but I don't know which. It's that particular WD one that holds my interest since the route I'm working on has a WD facility and it would make an ideal and quirky shunter for it.BR7MT wrote:Is the C14 the old Lancing Carriage works shunter?
If the older model railway enthusiasts here think it looks familiar that's because in the mid 1960s Tri-ang used it as the basis of their freelance 'Nellie' tank engine (the first model engine my Dad bought me and I still have it).
