I don't know if one of them ended up there, it may have done although they weren't that powerful. Originally built as the power units for push-pull / auto trains they weren't very successful in that guise and some were converted from 2-2-0 configuration to 0-4-0s. I think about 12 were built and at least 1 was sold in 1914 to the WD where it was used at various military depots in the home counties, but I don't know which. It's that particular WD one that holds my interest since the route I'm working on has a WD facility and it would make an ideal and quirky shunter for it.

If the older model railway enthusiasts here think it looks familiar that's because in the mid 1960s Tri-ang used it as the basis of their freelance 'Nellie' tank engine (the first model engine my Dad bought me and I still have it).

Nellie was my first hornby model too.

There will be a clause in the E2 read me to say that it wil not be acceptible to repaint the model in any shade of blue.
LBSCR brown, SR green, khaki, black or BR only.

The Austerity is due for an update at some point, not too much needs adding so inside motion is a possibility.

I'm sure Thomas went into a marsh at some point, so a green blotchy one would give people a get out clause.

It's an obscure anti-graffiti rule to stop engines being defaced by bored footplate crews.

It was late, one too many beers and I had just finished the O1 off and tuned the ENG file.
I may release it next weekend once it's been tested, crewed and LOD'd though I may hold out and do an SR version too.

The E2 is already at 4500 polys, so it's going to be big.

The wheels take up most of that count - they have not been altered from what gets generated automatically by my Engineer V3 plugin

I really should finish off a few of my projects.

Not for public release. (duh)
I've retired from the reskin business. Too much BS. :P

Still a nice model though...can't argue with that.

Great News! Any chance of the running plate being seperately textured?
