Nice! If i were up to route building I would have a go at Paddock Wood- Maidstone West, could do a semi fictional version.

Andy
Give it a go, its really not that diffcult :P , even ive managed to work out how to use (most) of Route Editor!

for me the prob would be getting the terrain right and making structures etc. Ive made fictional routes with freeware buildings etc, just notihing prototypical.

The terrain should be simple with the 90m DEM data, no really huge hills.

The Medway valley is really interesting - a lot of the paper mills had their own sidings/locos too - and some of the station architecture is just bizzare.

Hi

This loco should be great for Lyme Regis, if somewhat unprototypical...
I could put up a screenshot thread along the lines of the one I did for Freshwater if you'd like

Hi Paul

They are looking grand, will that (E2?) also have inside motion? Anyway, we need some SECR etc coaches for these now

Extremely nice inside motion Paul. You once said you'd never bother with that kind of detail, so I was wondering what had prompted you to change your mind. Perhaps you are doing some forward planning, TMTS style...

I probably won't do the inside motion for the E2, it's not really that visible with the tank and boiler in the way.

I've got 3 SECR wagons done, a brake half done and a 3 car birdcage set about 15%.
Should all run nicely on the new BATS southern route ;)

Time has moved on, PC's are a lot faster (though mine is still a coal fired, steam driven 1Ghz) and I also have a better insight into what can be done to optimise.
The O1 has only just hit 10,000 polys.

3D cabs in TMTS :)
all the cab controls are modelled with no transparencies - I'm just getting ready
Then it's back ro re-work the Highworth models for Highworth TMTS.

I would also like to do a proper raytraced cab for the O1 and I recorded a lot of P class sounds on my driving day out so there are a few more bits to do

One more WIP...

Ah, my old friend the C14, she's looking very cute. Terrific. I have prompted Tim to let me play with the editing tools so I can start work on Highworth TMTS but no joy yet :(

What's the new BATS southern route?

One other question, have you moved up to 1024x1024 textures as that lining on the SECR livery looks nice and crisp.

Nope, the whole O1 has 2 512x512 (one half used) and 2 256x256
- it still runs more smoothly that a lot of models with fewer polys.

The new BATS route is the one for their southern pack, being built by Vern. More details in their forum. (I know it goes through Woking, I can't remeber where else though)

Looks brilliant Paul, you were right about the cab on the O1; looks stunning.

Is the C14 the old Lancing Carriage works shunter?
