Thanks Martin

I have actually looked through my book, and found that there was a engine called Foxfield at the line. It was built in 1917 for the air ministry, and came to the line in 1932, with Foxfield painted on her tanks, and she was green. She was able to take a whole 5 (!) wagons to the summit of the line (Dilhorne). She was cut up in 1952. The only difference I can see from Miks model is a different safety valave, and few things on the running plate being in a differnet place.

Also, having read the book, when I do the NCB version, I think I will start a few actvities from the engine shed at the Colliery, which had a gradient of 1in11 out of it! However, I will need a aerial ropeway for the colliery, and some screens, neither of which I can find for download.

Hi

Some New RE screenshots showing a few angles of Bylthe Bridge from the surrounding area.

The last 2 shots show the Town of Blythe Bridge from Caverswall Road. All of the town has been made up from Backdrops, so there is almost no noticeable drop in framerates.

I hope you like these latest screenshots.

Not Don but Simon at Dons house, Blythe Bridge is a village and the exchange sidings were actually higher up than the main line, the connection from the exchange sidings to the mainline dropped down a very short gradient, i'll get you some shots of the exchange sidings next time I'm passing through Blythe Bridge. Hope the above helps. Simon (ThamesClyde)

Thanks Simon for that (You confused me for a second there, I thought you were leading a second life until I re-read your first sentence). I have no photos of Blythe Bridge apaart from aerial photos and OS maps, which dont help at all when it comes to elevation. (also, I presumed Blythe Bridge was a town, its certainly expanded a bit since the 1950's, a lot of those house backdrops will have to be removed for the NCB version.)

Hi

A further update: In anticipation of starting a 50's version (depending on the outcome of the poll), I have just spent the last 20 minutes stripping out the modern stuff and returning Blythe Bridge to its 50's condition (thanks to simons info he e-mailed me so generously). All thats left for a 50's version is :

1: Re-do the colliery with correct trackplan, and find some suitable buildings (some screens are absolutley neccesary, so anyone (simon perhaps?...) who could donate some of their time to make even a generic version would be welcome to get in touch)

2: replace Caverswall Road station with two sidings (I don't have a clue what was there in terms of buildings, so I'll just leave it bare for now)

3: Replace Dilhorne Park with two single ended sidings, as per diagram in my book.

4: Build Blythe Bridge Excahnage Sidings in a 1950's ish style (I will probably include a run-round loop to make it easier)

5: Finish off anything left over in terms of fields etc

6: send off to Beta testers

(Would there be any high volyage pylons in the 1950's?)

The amount of time this would take could be a few weeks or a few months, I really dont know.

also ive made this one,
http://www.angelfire.com/droid/danz/images/NCB.jpg

do you think its worth uploading a version with NCB on the tanks for roughly when the route is relesed? or is it just as well to leave it just as '16' ?

i was thinking chris,
'if' the route will be distrubuted by CD when complete, would it ba an idea to get some industrial stock included with the route on the cd? i guess this would depend on authors agreeing etc, but i think it would really make it a good route, without newcomers having to download all the stock :)

Hi
They would be great, and would fit in just right on the foxfield. A version with NCB on the side would be great as well. I am not planning to release this on CD, the download shouldn't be that excessive, and the bother of getting stuuf for the CD and organising it all would be just too much, especially with GCSE's in the not-too-distant future. I am hoping I will find someone when the time comes for uploading it who will package it up using a self-installer, rather than the spanned zip files which are causing such a problem, and I expect I will lose my rag if I get 200 e-mails all complaining that it wont work because they cant unzip it.

Hi Wookey

I'll try and send you over some scanned B+W images in a mo. If you could do this you will forever be in my debt, It will really enhance the route. The textures aren't too important, just as long as they're accurate for a dirty colliery atmosphere.
