Blackpool Tram Screebshots (oh ! not again !)

Post by ebensoussan »

Hi,

I downloaded the route yesterday, and I enjoyed it. Congratulations, Bigvern !

As a result, I took my camera and shot a lot of screens. Here are some of them :

I can’t get over my own thoughtlessness ! I pasted twice the same screen and I forgot others. I hope you won’t mind my re-posting them

Thanks Steve. Precisely, I was still driving a double deck tram late evening along the Golden Mile and I wondered how it will be possible to improve the sounds. Bigvern used several excellent gen_uk_urb sound files, with a lot of traffic noises but I was considering the possibility to add in some places sounds like : light sea surf, sea-gulls, disco tunes, fun fair and so on . I think I would try to experience that, if I a had any capabilty to do such a thing. (Perhaps with an advanced function of Kosmos. But there, sound is combined with a particular type of weather. What I would like is to place some sounds on special spots)

I'm sure there is plenty of 'stuff' that could be 'borrowed' from Seaview 4 for this route - seaside sounds and fairground rides are the first things that come to mind? I've already discussed with Vern the possibility of doing 'Scenery-Only Patches' to add in this kind of stuff!

Spot sounds would be great for the route. Blackpool is noisy.

I'm toying with the idea of going to Blackpool fo a weekend to get drunk.....oppps .... to photograph the seafront buildings and have a try at making replacement buildings.

Now seaside sounds would be superb - especially as you are passing the slot arcades etc.

One feature of Modern City is the seaguls flying round the Blackpool section there. Dunno how its been done but that would be a great addition, so long one doesnt fill my ice cream cone - LOL

No, but if you offer the proprietor of Holton Towers enough money I'm sure he could be persuaded <grin>

You may be interested to know, that the Laughing King at Blackpool Pleasure Beach, has been laughing since 1950 as far back as I can remember. I was six years old.

All the trams in those days had twin destination blinds and were in a mixture of wartime green livery and 1950, new Cream/Green with lovely curved side stripes. Showing my age  But happy memories of what the Blackpool Trams looked like at their best.
