I would need the authors permission to supply the repaint and I don't know how to ask in German.

If you have PSP7 you can try it yourself. its not hard. Even I can do it! :-?

It's a brave attempt but is far too big and the driving wheels should also have a set of geared teeth on them, outside the running tyres. As built this model has no way of transmitting the power from the large gear wheels to the driving wheels.

The frame at the front to carry the piston stroke is also missing. Pity, as it's always nice to see primitive engines modelled in MSTS, something there should be more of.

And the wheels should run on flanged rail, perhaps a project for someone, but I agree with Saddletank, it is far too big, but it could be worked on.

Here's how it should look

Image

The loco is far smaller than the MSTS model, it runs on flanged track, has the cogged wheels and it has some sort of tender

I reduce it by 0.95 SFM. Any more distorts the boiler or puts it out of gauge.

I think it is a good gimmic but until we have a suitable early route and stock I wouldn't take it too seriously.

I have this crazy dream of building the Stockton & Darlington one day. Any primitive engine up to the mid 1830s would be acceptable on it.

Need an animated horse though.

Hi!

I just got a reply from the author and he gives the OK for the repaint and to put it online.

As for other improvements, he will maybe do a new model based on the photo in the forum some time, this was only his very first model.
Greetings,
Roni

OK, for a first model, I take it all back and offer my apologies. It's an excellent bit of work for a starter. The gent just needs to follow some pix or drawings a bit more closely.
