In the early years thats fine - I understand they were absolutely identical about from electrical equipment. You'll notice that the order of the carriages is different though - 506's had the panto at the end. I have a allgreen and allblue 506 variations on my HD - unreleased due to the poor texturing (by me, not stevesherratt)

The door arrangements were different from the pic above, according to this pic :

They are the same as the 506 arrangement, for which the model is correct. So i guess uve just rearranged the coaches to move the pantograph.

Stratford!

Actually the model of the 306 is looking good apart from the panto is a diamond instead of a Stone Faiveley Pantograph which was fitted to them on rebuild, look very closely at your pic of stratford!
Also not to nit pick but the 506 & 306 are almost identicle apart from the 506's consited of DMBC seating 32 3rd class, a TC seating 24 1st class & 38 3rd class, & a DT seating 60 3rd Class. Total seating capacity 174 of which 24 were 1st class!
Where as a 306 (pre-rebuild!)consisted of a DMBC seating 53, a T seating 64 & a DT seating 60. Total seating capacity all 3rd class 176!

They're class trains, and we're gonna need them as you know the 306's get taken over EVENTUALLY by 360's! :D

360's (*spit*) don't actually operate services that the 306's did, thats rhe 315's domain. As for your "They're class trains" comment they may look ok apart from the barbie liveries, ride well on poor track but the seats are awful give terrible backache on a 30min journey! The air con sounds like your pan dropped off when you go thru a neutral section & only 1 toilet!

Forget where I got these from but hopefully these make it clear the arrangement of coaches and doors and pantos on the 306 (AM6 to its friends)

Jimbob, i see your point

I was on one from Stratford to Liverpool Street, I stood in the vestibule but my dad said he thought the seats were very uncomfortable!

Jamie.. wasn't around when the 306's were so i can't comment, althought one still exists i'd love to go on it!

I was only 5 when they were replaced, as such I never been on one either, which is a crime really as they sole surviver 306017 is based at ilford, & has been used to commemorate 125/150/175 year anviersarys of branch lines. There are bound to be some due soon, but very rearly get publicised until just before!

Point of interest, I see your ones in the pics are running with Stone Faiveley Pantographs whereas the model has a cross arm, Did both types use both Panto's then?

Or were they later modded with SF's?

Just curious
