It should be a default route with TMTS.

Success would be assured :)

Highworth website update!

Post by decapod »

I have just updated a couple of locos on the Highworth website - before I put them on UKTS, would someone like to try them out and let me know if they are working correctly? (Dean and Aberdare)

Be careful what you wish for John...

As long as it's GWR or LSWR, it would be a dream come true :)

Seriously, wonderful looking loco's.

Absolutely superb.

Just a thought - how long has Highworth been in the shop? 3 years? I assume it didn't take them that long to build the real thing!!!

We are indeed doing everything correctly to scale. 8)

Route was first proposed at a meeting in the town's schoolroom in 1875. Opened to traffic in 1883... so actually we are being quite efficient :)

Martin Heywood is going to do an activity where you play me building the route and cussing and stomping off in a huff for 6 months.

Martin and I went on a field trip, walking the route, to start the project in Sept 2001 - 4 and a half years ago.

The first showing of the route was at basingstoke show March 2002.

I also forgot to add that the real line was begun by one company who went belly up and was finished by another. We don't plan on doing everything accurately then.

I remember it well... the 5 star hotel (hah!), the drunken attempts to find the station site in the dark after a curry and too many lagers... the very wet foggy morning we went stomping through a huge pile of farmyard refuse that used to be Hannington station... It may seem like 4 1/2 years Paul but by my reckoning it works out to 3 1/2 years.

Mentioning Sept 2001 it's strange how the 9/11 disaster seems like yesterday but the beginning of the route seems a lot longer ago than that.

Didn't the line also stall for a year or something until it got the money in from the GWR to finish it or something? :)

(queue route builders stomping off in a huff though perhaps for different reasons :) )

The activity starts with a blank route and only takes half an hour to complete

I'm going to download them straight away. You shall hear from me at a later time about how it all works out with the locos
