(Hi-Res) Striving for Photo Reality 2

Post by stephwood »

Some of you ask for more screenshots of the route, well at long last I've got round sorting my album out, follow the link below for steam, diesel and general scenery shots,

I have been asked if the route will be upload, I'm sorry to say no, the route belongs to Ian Jenkins, he gave me a copy and I got carried away with high detail scenery, it's taken me over four months and many hours to do 15 miles, mainly for taking screenshots, as for the framerate it's as low as 4 in places, but I put that down to windows ME, I'm going to try XP pro very soon, have to see if that makes a difference,

My copy of the route stands at 1.69 gig with still a lot of scenery missing, and I wouldn't upload a route (if it was mine too) with half done scenery, you could say I've reached the end of the line with this one, what I can say I plan to do a high detailed route but not as long in terms of miles to upload, thats as much as I can say at the moment, Watch this space.

Hope you enjoy the views, follow the link and type stephwood

Hi Steph

All I can say is WOW!

Watch out for this name in the future - I bet Kuju are shaking in their boots.
If I can I will be working closely with Steph to bring you some sort of route, this one is currently being rebuilt using 3rd rail UKFinescale and when I have finished track laying I will pass it on to Steph.
I do know that he has his own plans for a route as well so I just hope he can find the time to apply his skills to my route.

Brilliant.

I think we can safely say when this route is released it will raise the bar quite significantly in quality of freeware route building. The shots you have taken alone are enough to guarrentee that people cant wait to get their hands on it.

I congratulate you. Creation of a truely magnificant masterpiece of route building, and an inspiration to others. :)

I agree with all the above, placement is superb and the strret scenes are perfect. Lots of attention to detail and on such a vast scale, you must have been at it for some time.

Regards,

cool. 2 small questions :: is the scenery created from imagination? using the skills as a model railway creator, or is it all done from photographys with a bit of filling in between. :)
How much of the scenery has been custom created? :)
