The Advanced Passenger Train

Post by Sector95 »

Hi everybody,

This is my first reskin, and it is a pleasure to have been allowed to reskin Dave Babbs' Class 370 APT-P. :)

It will be released as soon as I make the realistic soundset based on actual recordings of it on tests. :) Constructive feedback is always welcome.
Enjoy, James.

I hope this doesn't sound rude, because it's not my intention, but the problem with these very old models is a lack of an interior.

An interior was added to some DMUs a while back, I think it was Jon Bilton who did them (correct me if I am wrong), and it gave some old models a new lease of life. It'd be nice if someone could do the same for the APT, if it's possible.

Hi Niall,

Sorry to hear you're a little disappointed with the train. I tried my best to bring it up to todays standards in appearance and I thought I did a decent job of it too. Thanks for the feedback though Niall as this is true for all of the very old models. I hope you liked the train a little bit anyway? Any comments on the sounds anybody who has heard the real thing?

Thanks, James.

It was Jon Bilton when he converted the class 101 to a 120, with the interior taken from GWR Railcar.

The APT looks very good, at least the sounds are better than default ACELA sounds.

Thanks,

The APT-P sounds very different to the Class 91 Loco which was based on it. I was thrilled to find the sound sources for it.

I think I might make an activity for it after I release my second reskin which is in the paintshops.

Keep the feedback coming people. :)

James.

My latest reskin (looks a little bit bad but it's better than the old texture):

It will be uploaded once I make the soundset based on real footage. I also made a basic non-animated cab from a photo.

Enjoy, James.

Hi Jon,

I forgot about that. May I use your alternative eng files for the lights and exhausts?

Thanks, James.

I hope you enjoy the sounds, taken from archive footage. Hopefully it will satisfy the people who never seen and heard the real thing but also the people who did. I certainly did! :P

Thanks, James.
