Don't tempt me, china clay and the area in Cornwall where it's found is an obsession with me 8)

Seriously, these are the slurry tank which being aluminium are difficult to copy.

The 'Tiger' bogie clay wagons are also very nice and I've got plans of them.

However, they have a lot of detail and any number of them would see very low fps :-?

There are ICA tanks available to download from trainsim.com. They're very detailed and look good with 37670+671.

Good

Post by MasterfulEuan »

i have to admit anyone trying to make the new "clean" varients will be in for a challenge - as for FPS problems - they only have about 8 or 10 wagons running in one train as they are heavy old things especially when full. anymore than 10 or these things and you need something like a class 60 or 2 heavyweight 37's to shift they damn things!. oh for the days of transrail 37/5s thundering through cornwall with the bullets!

The 'silver bullets', especially dirty one, wouldn't pose a fps problem. The 'Tigers' had a lot of 'fiddly bits' but as you say you wouldn't need many :-?

A nice bit of Devon or Cornwall to run them on and I reckon members would be falling over them selves to build them.

Having been around St. Blazey when the turntable was in use, 25s, the first 37, 47's and 50s around I love the place.

08113 trundling under the bridge past Par station with 12 vans and brake, returning from Wenford Bridge, was brilliant.

Such a variety of traffic around and still interesting today 8)
Cheers

Come on then

Post by MasterfulEuan »

Well then, maybe someone who is capable of making this idea into a route should do it, trouble is i cant do it - my msts abilities stop at editing .eng files and sorting out problems, plus driving of course.

Maybe there is something we could do, maybe become the china clay barons or something - lol

We have the correct locos available now, any 3767x loco or a 60 if you want up to date, the PCA tank (which i can find to download anywere!)

come on lads we can do this!................

(my enthusiasm was spiked today by seeing the real 37057 + 37308 hammer through taunton with a 1400 tonne engineers train - superb!) :D :D :D

Oh yes You could tell if it were the china clay in shrewsbury, If you didnt miss em you could hear them passing Dorrington on the marches line 14 miles away before seeing them. But if you missed them all you got was stereo Trash up towards crewe for atleast 15 minutes ( about the distance of Acton yard from Paddington.), But going slow. What days we used to have.

Many Thanks to Birdfink for sending me the PCA china clay wagon!

Much appreciated,

Will send in some screen shots of them and 37671 soon, maybe run 47363 with them as well!

Dug up this thread as my interest in the Wenford line has been piqued by an article in this months "Traction" magazine. May put it in the "to do" basket after TRS beta testing and finishing Alston.

Your doing the Alston branch Big Vern? *starts salivating*

Would be good to drive and even be able to imagine it was still open now. None of this narrow gauge ....unless its the NG version you're modelling of course!
Up the Loons!
LGVs for all!
And its good the CTRL is well half open!

Yes Haltwhistle to Alston is about 50% done, all track/terrain plus some of the 3D objects. Has been put on hold due to TRS beta testing. Hoping I'll be able to resume Alston in the next couple of weeks.

And yes it is based on the standard gauge route not the current NG operation.

After that it will be a toss up between doing Bodmin Road - Wenford (maybe Weybridge too) or refurbishing Far North.
