Creating the player service is no different to any length activity. Then I break the activity into sections and write and test the AI services and any interactions I want, such as overtaking trains. Once Ive done that i move onto the next section. and test. And so on for each subsequent sections until its all done, then a final test or two to make sure it all works ok.Super Activities but how do you make them so long???
For the coal and water restrictions, I simply note the amount remaining after the first test, then reduce the amount available by whatever I had left, then test again and tweak as necessary.
A 3 hour activity will take about 60 hours to do. The Southport Diversions took about 150 hours as a few of the interactions took a look of fine tuning to get right. Not for the faint hearted but very rewarding when it all works ok, especially if other people like them.
In fact most of them involve running at almost maximum speed - 80 to 100mphBecause they cover a lot of track with lowish speed limits
