Post by Horgy »

Can some generous person tell me every single TOC in operation? Or the name of every service operator that would feature in the automated announcement, and how it is said? There thats a big clue to what i'm doing.. :)

Is Alphaline, Intercity, NSE, LTS considered a TOC? Maybe ex-TOC?

If you click on 'What is ATOC' then you will get a complete list on a PDF. But it's more or less what has been said.

Alphaline is just Wessex Trains and/or Wales and Borders' name for their 158 services, I think.

Really? I really never knew that, althought I live about 90 miles from the IOW and sell tickets under ATOC.

What will happen to the Island Line when it goes in 5 years? Will the IOW take over and make more revenue on it?
Would be interesting to see the island operated by Steam Engines together with ex lul stock.

Alphaline IS part of the wessex and wales & borders franchise. Only trains with rolling riots get the Alphaline brand announced over the PA system

OK simply its as follows

National Express operates quite a bit of the network
First group have GE NW GW
Virgin r there own
Arriva have North east some of carlisle and all liverpool electrics
Etc Etc!!!!

The Toc's are the likes of national Express and Stagecoach or Govia the names of the above mentioned are just the franchise names choosen either by the above company or the SRA.

i think ATOC is Association of Train Operating Companys
