Routes you can never remove.
Just a curiosity post really, probably had a thread similar in the past and i've missed it, we all have a moment where we want to clear out some of our msts routes but i was interested to know, which routes do you have on msts that you can never bring yourself to remove and why?
These are some of mine:
Severn Valley Railway - Still one of the better add ons for MSTS, plenty of stock and activities to keep you occupied.
Swanage - One of my favourite add ons, the scenery is fantastic and very realistic.
New Forest V1/V2 - I love the area in real life, and the level of accuracy in the route is brilliant.
Great Eastern - Another fantastic add on, of course my main reason for me not wanting to remove it is due to my home town being included, but it has good scenery and well modelled stock to go with it.
West Somerset Railway - Although i'm no GWR fan this route probably has the same level of accuracy as Swanage & SVR. A very pleasant drive indeed.
Lyme Regis - Not the longest of routes available but still in my opinion one of the best free routes in terms of scenery and interest.
You can of course list ones i have mentioned and give your own reasons, just interested to know what sorts of routes are considered too good to part with!
Regards,

Dorset Coast It's my local route, and has to be one of the best modern day routes out there.

Wasn't the idea of this thread but yes, V1 is available in the download library, and V2 will be released later on.PGH60 wrote:HI is the New Forest Route V1\2 the one you can download please? Thanks Peter.

Re: Routes you can never remove.
Cannock Chase, Burton/Derby are IMO the best 50's/60's Steam Activity Routes (especially for shunting activities) you can get.
But then, who would be without Thames-Mersey for a great Main-Line thrash.
But to be honest I have 30+ MSTS Routes loaded on my P/C at the moment and I wouldn't be without any of them.

Re: Routes you can never remove.
Why would you want to remove any routes?
Theres no need with Trainstore installed.

maybe you're running out of hd space and can't afford (or don't have the space) to install a larger drive?

Re: Routes you can never remove.
I don't like to have a huge amount of routes installed on my pc, not only does it increase the load time of unstoring/storing, routes do take up quite a bit of HD space.systema wrote:Why would you want to remove any routes?

Re: Routes you can never remove.
I totally agree with Keiran, you have to have a sense of proportionality, try everything once, there are plenty, but you really have to discard much. A large installation needs a great deal of time and effort to make the sim run at it`s best.
Ideally, run error free, if you want the best from the sim, I`ve been at it a while and I cannot give a higher recommendation to a beginner.
The two things I treasure most are ConBuilder and Route_Riter without these the sim would have died years ago.
Kindest regards
Ray

Re: Routes you can never remove.
Five essential routes (IMHO) and my own personal favourites that I'd always want on my system:
Bala Hub
Westvale
Cambrian 2
Great Eastern
Steyning
North Wales Coast could make that list though...

Re: Routes you can never remove.
1. Great Eastern - it's always at the top of my list, it includes my region and is set in the years I was born and includes my all time fav traction (37s).
2. North Wales Coast - Includes 2 of my favourite types traction (25s and 40s), and is the best modelled route I've ever seen.
3. West Somerset Railway
4. Evesham Branch
5. Dorset Coast
6. Cambrian 2
7. Scottish Capital Express/Scottish Central
7. Westvale
8. East Coast Express Parts 1-3 (But not 4)

Re: Routes you can never remove.
Mine are
North wales Coast -Can`t stop using it
North West England-classic route
Thames Mersey _home town of Winsford
Dorset coast- reminds me of hoildays on the south coast
Bristol cardiff-Just love this area
Great Eastern- Excellent Route
Mid-east-A great diesel route
and any other Pre plastic trains I.e. Diesel 1960-1980`s BR era
Just wish there was a route Birmingham-Bristol south-west.set in the period above. Now that wouldn`t get removed.

Thaxted
Dorset Coast
Burton-Derby
Cannock Chase
Great Eastern
That would be my minimal configuration, but as has been mentioned, for the most part, TrainStore takes care of it, so it matters little.

In No particular order
Black Country 1 - I'm lucky enough to be on the testing team and know you will all enjoy this revamp of Cannock Chase
Burton Derby
Cannock Chase
Thames Mersey
North Wales Coast - what can i say that hasn't been said already
Thames Mersey
Woodhead - for all its quirks and my local line as a child
Great Eastern
Mid East - you can't beat having a Deltic thrashing down Stoke Bank
or trying to get Mallard to go faster

Must have utilities are Conbuilder Routeriter and Trainstore
