I seem to have been one of the lucky ones to get North Wales Coast at the earliest opportunity and I have done no more than run from one end to the other on an express passenger.

Well, what can I say? The experience left me flabbergasted. One test of a route is whether or not it can capture the character of the line and this one certainly does. The scenery is pretty good and there is lots of it, landmarks are recognisable all the way down the line and it certainly captured the scars of the early 70s track rationalisation. Not so much a case of capturing the character as capturing the line itself! It is, in my opinion, one of the most stunning pieces of route building I have come across!

i got my copy yesterday and ran an Class 101 from Llandudno to Rhyl and it's very realistic, i sen old pictures from the 70's and 80's and when driving to Rhyl with the DMU the was a run which was impressive, gives you a chance to relive the past, i still haven't drove a Class 37 along the coast yet but i'm like the route and also Chester station was very good as well

Yes indeed a good route. Ive been lucky to see copies of it in beta at the UKTS roadshows so bought my copy without any hesitation. One steam activity is currently in the making and part way through its first test run

Does the route suit LMS and BR steam activities? - or would that be going back a bit too far in time?

The era its set in is 1975 to 1985, but there is always scope for steam specials

Hi, I have just received the route and tested an activity and trainstore came up with the following problems :

Warning: - Item No. 1
The definition of the locomotive in the Consist file is different to the specification in the Engine parameter in the locomotive file
(They should be identical)
This will stop the Consist from appearing in the MSTS Explore selection list
Consist "File: '9F10(t).con'
Engine "File: 'NWC_25083\NWC_25083_vac.ENG'

Warning: - Item No. 2
The following file contains a 'Wagon' parameter that is different to the file name
(They should be identical)
This will cause MSTS errors when reloading a saved Activity
Folder: 'TRAINS\TRAINSET'
File: 'NWC_47349\NWC_47349_Dead.WAG'
Desc: 'NWC_47349'

Indeed as it says I cannot reload a saved activity and it seems to affect all the acts. Any help in sorting would be appreciated as the route does look great.

It's also recommended to try the route with Distant mountains enabled if you aren't already

Hi, thanks for that. I didn't know about the patch. It seems to have sorted the 47 problem but the 25 bit still shows in trainstore.

Does the route include the Conwy Valley branch?

Not as yet, the line features Chester - Holyhead with the 3 mile branch to Llandudno and the isolated Breakwater railway at Holyhead is also included.
We plan to do a NWC2 which will feature the Blaneau branch...but a bit of rest needed 1st!

Cant say about crewe, but a frieghtliner from holhead to Chester is aroun 1hr 45mins, dependant on traffic etc

There are 3 patches for it, all on the news page near the top.
