Patches are cumulative - if you have patch 3, you wont need patches 1 or 2.

There are 3 patches for it, all on the news page near the top.
Patch number three replaces all of the earlier patches, so you only need to download the third one :)

Well, thought i'd add a review of my own.

I got my disc yesterday and although i have only driven Llandudno - Llandudno Jct so far, if the rest is as good then this route is incredible!

I haven't travelled the line by train in over a decade but it is so realistic from what i remember, even down to the level crossing at Deganwy. Plus, i played with the settings on 'Best Graphics' and it barely had an effect (which is a first for me!).

All in all, it should be well worth the cost if, as i say the rest is as impressive as what i have so far seen.

Well done to the Class 15 Pres Group and Making Tracks and everyone involved.

Excellent! I do hate it when you have to download loads of patches and install them in order. Less scope for error in cumlative patching :) .

Thanks for that info.

I'm really looking forward, not only to the North Wales but the Scottish Capitals route too.

The rolling stock on the North Wales Coast is factional as well, the diesels with the same numbers ran on the north wales coast addon is also the same diesel that ran on the route in real life, in the 70's and 80's i wanted a green Class 40 on my latest activity, Class 103 DMU from Llandudno Junction to Bangor stopping at all stations, i went to uktrainsim for a green class 40 but then i changed my mind and had a look on see which class 40's were on the North Wales Coast addon and found 40015 in BR Green!

From some of the research material I bought for MEP. This one stayed green after others went blue.
As it was used for railtours it may have found it's way on to NWCL metals?

BTW there are good sites for 37's, 40's and 47's which give a history of each number of the classes allocations. Haven't got thr links to hand but they come up if you Google Class 37 etc. Some folk do loose site of the fact that these machines lasted a long time and that even if they were allocated tgo a certain shed they would travel considerable distances on the network. Just mention this as unless a route is set in a VERY narrow time frame many loco's moved around considerably. I did find at least one 31 that spent almost it's entire working life at Holloway, but that was exceptional

Geoff

PS I hope to draw up a booklist of all the reference books I used for MEP stock as I'm sure many of you may be as addicted to books as I am

40106 was commonly used on NWC Class 40 diagrams in the early '80s' (and, lets be honest, pretty much all the 40s got an appearence on the coast at some point!) and is included with the pack :D

Well what a fantastic route, i was impressed before i even installed the disc, looking at the amount of traction included i counted 52 diesel locos of 8 classes plus steam and DMU`s & stock/Wagons. This is the most I have seen. After installing the route it gets better altough i have not seen the traction yet but I know I wont be disapointed. I have decided to change the way a try out new routes, normally i run a couple of the activites that with it to get the feel then delete them and write my own as usually there is not many activities or vareity of traction but NW Coast has changed that, I wrote my own first for a class 37 in regional. drove it from Chester to Holyhead, WOW the route is fab, first I saw Chester station i almost forgot that i was at home in front of my PC and not in Chester station. I thought that Great Eastern had set the standard but this routes is even better, thanks `Making Tracks` and C15PS.

Patch Number 5 now uploaded to UKTS, will also be availble from http://www.d8233.org.uk shortly
NWC PATCH 5

This patch resolves some missing textures from the route folder, the missing .wag file for 47349,
The missing DMUcab.sms files for 103 & 104 DMU's.
several SMS file updates so all locos will have sounds as AI.
Also, this includes sms files for the coaches so when in passenger view coaches
can be heard and while in the cab coaches can be heard.
The scream sounds for the 45 and 47 is now fixed to sound more acurate apose to sounding too loud.
Discrepencies in NWC_25083_vac.eng file now resolved
updates to the Mk2a's
Texture updates to the Class 33's
Path altered for 1J31 activity
Consist altered for 1D30 activity to use 40192 instead of 40132
Another update to 1J31 activity,
0F21 act updated to actually end and use both 25's as stated
A couple of route shape and texture updates.
brakes have been altered on the diesels locos to re-act and brake more realistically
Couplings Have been sorted on the DMUs to stop 'bouncing'
Resolves a problem with 7D41-1 activity
Resolves a traffic issue with 1D48 at the Bangor area
Adds times in for Holyhead on 1D33
Resolves the permanent Red signal outside Holyhead on North Wales Coast Express act
Sorts Brake problems in act 6E56
Resolves other brake issues on most rolling stock
Positions Class 47 Cabview correctly

Can say that we wont be doing daily upadtes again, we will wait untill there are enough to make a update again, but we think this patch will resolve most issues. this patch will also be the basis for the new batch of disks.
Only one it doesnt solve is the bit of road hanging down on Britt Bridge, if we can resolve this soon we will do, but as it is not appearing on any of the teams set ups, its difficult to address.
Many thanks all.

Your loss I'd have thought? MSTS and RE can throw some real curved balls, but that's not new. As Chris has said the patches will all be in the new batch of discs. If patches worry you I guess yo're not running windows? New patches for M$ products arrive daily  .

Hi
Agreed the best way to test a route is to release it, and then issue a couple of small patches.
I've never seen a route released yet where the testing team find everything.
Having said that 'other simulators' (no names), appear to be released without any user testing.
Which is bad practice.
Cheers
Jon
