Donny Carr Rd was originally planned for mideast but I never quite got there, sometimes when you get a route ready for distribution you have to stop at a convenient point and release it , Retford was it.

I already have track down to just north of Finsbury anyway on the Master route so I personally would like to get the bottom end done first.

I have enough ref material to do that and also to go west as alan says, he's waiting for nottingham.

I've gone for an "undecided" on this one...the route as it stands is huge, potential packed and of course excellent. If I was to say extend then yes to Doncaster plus add a works and go south to Kings Cross adding Finsbury Park depot which would be great for "deltic" fans or indeed go East to Norwich (perhaps connecting one day to AndyG's Harwich branch extention)

OR

A new route...Midland Main Line Perhaps...St Pancras - Nottingham plus Toton Depot/Yard - Good Peak route plus Midland pullman etc plus St Pancras will make an excellent structure with the gasworks. Potential for joining that route to the Mideast too.

Firstly I don't think Mid East has been overtaken by other routes. ProTrain are still selling the Rhine route commercially and your route stands up to that in terms of overall quality and better in terms of route/traffic options.

In fact I've taken to invisibly electrifying it so I can use your AC electrics on it as I prefer to run my trains through stations which, good as Rob's GNER route is, is something it lacks.

I've voted for extend (London would be good, and perhaps Doncaster to the north, although I would offer sacrifces if you asked were you to consider out towards Norwich - 31's and mk1's across the Fens again...), but I wonder, if Rob really has thrown in the towel on GNER, whether that could be adapted/incorporated into your route and if that would save time?

Ultimately though it's your choice - it's a hobby after all. So long as you get some Mk2a's in the works...

I am fairly new to MSTS, but it is the most used route on my system.

I have already mentioned that I would like to see Mideast Extended to London and Doncaster.

I could hop on a train to Doncaster with my Digi-cam, take some photo's of the station etc.

I would also Take some of Sheffield Midland station, If I can i'll try and send some info on East Coast MainLine, Track Plan's!! - Will be scan's.

I do think you should consider extending, If you feel up to the task of improoving the BEST route by far.

I think even My dad will agree.

Look forward to your decision Tim, either way. Like the Stock you're making.

I know what he should do:-

ME v.2- Up to Doncaster, down to Kings Cross and across to Norwich.
ME v.3- Up to Leeds and York, from Norwich to Liverpool Street and expand the midlands to Nottingham
ME v.4-York and Leeds to Newcastle, up to Sheffield and down to London St. Pancras from Nottingham, rest of east anglia.
ME v.5- Newcastle to Glasgow and Aberdeen and most lines off the ECML.
ME v.6 to 10- Down the WCML to London Euston with and rest of the midlands (complete with S&C) and all scottish routes.
ME v.11 to 15 - GW main line from Cardiff to Bristol and all other Welsh lines.
ME v.16-20 - GWR Main Line to London and Cornwall.
ME v.21-30 - Southern Main lines.
ME v.31-50 - All branch lines not yet done

Anyone notice something about this list?

There's still a statute in Bristol that allows us to shoot any Welshman out after curfew with our longbows. Provided he's more than 10 yards away. If he's closer we're supposed to arrest him. ;)

I like Wales though. Smashing part of Great Britain. ;) ;)

How would a longbowman tell a Welshman from over 10 yards?

From the Observer Book of Racial Stereotypes (1980 edition):

Welshman (Miseraere Gitae)

Round bellied, usually in full Rugby plumage, with Leek accesories. Miserable expression on face, noticable for song. Various calls, ranging from "Men of Harlech" to "The Little Saucepan". To the uninitiated, the call can sound like a musical chest-cough when sung in indigenous language.

Outside western areas of the British Isles usual habitat is licenced premises, rugby clubs and mathematics departments of schools.

Mmm. I think I need to update my reference books...

Posted per and pro Fodda who is much closer to Wales than me, IKB
