Hi everyone,

I hadn't seen anyone mentioning this on UKTS before, so I thought I would.

I recently downloaded the excellent Jagsttalbahn route from http://www.schmalspursim.de/

Seeing as I really enjoyed it, I thought I'd recomment it to you guys.

It's a German 750mm gauge branch line, which now runs as a preserved route. The route is very nicely detailed, and also comes with stock and activities.

The only potential drawback is that it's only available in German.

Nice one alexnick, too bogged down at the moment to start on any new routes, but it looks good.
Downloaded some of the steam cabs that I'm sure I will use in the near future, thanks for the headsup..

Thanks for pointing this site what a smashing little route and it's complete with stock and activities,

Just to mention this when it's installed it becomes a completly stand alone addon,it becomes a mini route,I've put it on drive D along with PPR east.and run it from there.

About try the other route there,I'ts called Frdseebahn,another complete route with stock,Any one of my age would like to see the 3 wheel bubble car,the one with the front opening door,does any one remember the Messerscmidt car?

Are there two versions?

As i downloaded it for free.

Also, i've noticed there is a slight problem with this loco:



Seems to crash if you want to go to the head out cab view, and on view 4.

No the one you down loaded is the only version,What Tony saw is a 55 minute DVD of the route,luckily I have a smatering of German,just enough to work what 18.50E was for.

Are you using the bin patch? I think the stock is only set up for MSTS 1.6 or higher.

Yep, i also installed the extra file for the route too. All the other stock seems fine and i've yet to have a crash with any of them.

It's fine on my version, so I'm afraid I can't explain that one. Strange.

Ah well, i've replaced it with one of the other excellent models.

One thing i have noticed aswell is the points... some of them switch to the opposite way the loco is going. I assume this is just how the original trackwork was put together?

The Messerschmidt car had an in-line cockpit similar to a training aircraft, both the Heinkel and BMW Isetta had front opening doors. I took my driving test in a Heinkel. I was able to drive that car solo on a full motor-cycle licence as the in-line gear lever was prevented from being set to reverse. The device preventing that was removed and L-plates attached for the driving test and I had to get a colleague, who had a full licence, to accompany me to the test centre in Swindon, where I passed first-time. Oh happy days!

Hi John,

The first vehicles I learnt drive on was when I was a post boy with BOAC, we had 6 Lambretta 3 wheelers a bit like the ones you still see in India,and a Reliant 3 wheeler van,again you could drive it at 16 on a motor bike licence as they didn't have reverese either.

I started there when I was 15,at 16 I became a General Apprentice until I was 18. I ended up in the Computer Dept,when I left I was on Managerial Grade,just shows what you could do in those days,also BOAC paid for me to go to night school.

Hello all I need some help getting this route to install properly. My problem is I don't speak a word of german. Can some one please explane how to install this route?

If you have downloaded all the JTB files you will, have 7 .rar files
1) the file "liesmich.rar" is the ReadMe giving instructions in German - not much use if you do not speak German so ignore it!
2) there arte 5 files labelled JTB-1.rar through to JTB-5.rar Unzip each of these into a temporary folder - you will than have 5 folders named JTB-1 to JTB-5
3) open JTB-1 and if this brings up another folder named JTB-1 open that. You are looking for a folder named "Train Simulator JTB"
4) open each of the other JTB-2 to JTB-5 files in turn looking in each case for a folder named Train Simulator JTB
5) now you have 5 folders each named Train Simulator JTB Copy them in turn into your Microsoft Games folder They will appear alongside your original Train Simulator folder DO NOT COPY THEM INTO THE TRAIN SIMULATOR folder; they are a separate program As you copy each one agree if asked whether to overwrite existing folders
6) you should now have a folder "Train Simulator JTB" with all the usual Train Simulator folders inside There will be just one route inside the Routes Folder "Jagsttalbahn"
7) look for a file in Train Simulator JTB called JTBsetup.exe and run that pressing Enter when a message comes up After the program has run, the black box will disappear
you have one more task to do. Unzip the folder "bugfix1" You will find a Trains folder. Copy this into your Train Simulator JTB folder overwriting the existing Trains folder.
9) Start Jagsttalbahn by clicking on Train .exe in the Train Simulator JTB folder; from then on it is the same as your usual Train Sim

Just curious but why exactly must you not copy them into the train simulator folder?

I copied the route folder into my routes folder like i would do for most downloads, i also copied the global bits into my original global folder etc. I chose no when it asked me to overwrite anything. The only problem i had was my steam replacement textures went back to default, but other than that everything is still fine. I load it via trainstore like i would in any other route, and all other routes seem fine too.
