steam heat pipe for coaches, where is it?

Post by tubemad »

Hello all,

I am looking for a leaky steam pipe that I'm sure came with some set of coaches or something (and no,it wasn't the banana van) but I'm sure it was separate (unlike the van) and could be dropped into the coaches, I remember adding some in but I have no idea where I got it from (its in my Train store probably somewhere dug deep, but i don't know where to look.

I would say how do you add it into a wag file, but the steam pipe is to be added to the stock in an activity, and im sure people don't want to spend the time editing wags just to get the steam heat affect in an activity

Can anyone please point me in the right direction?

Cheers,

James.

James,

The one I tend to use is included in the file below:

This is intended to be placed behind the loco so the leak appears on the front of it. I have tried to insert it within a rake of stock but you get visible gaps between them,

You should actually, it worked wonders and didn't leave a gap! Though it didn't seem to like some of the points on the Highland Mainline, it derailed my stock . Took them off, and its fine now

I use the Leaky Pipe file included in the Lion download.
It gives a nice effect but I use sparingly.
If i put it in front of the loco,no problems but in the middle of a rake of Mk1's i get a gap (small) between the corridor connectors and when using the external view travelling alongside the invisible wagon, violent shuddering. Drop back one coach and you see the 'steam' and lose the shuddering. Messing with the bounding box doesn't seem to help.
I haven't had a derail yet but there's time. :(
