Kind of a question for Paul re shape viewer and others if anyone else knows of an easy way to do it.
Ok here goes:-
I have loads for wagons which are alaised to a common loads folder for shapes and textures. So when loading in S viewer i always get a blank S file show because of where the Textures are. Is there a way other than renaming the entire lot to take a shot of them using s viewer??
Is it a case of adding a simple line in the program to allow you to be able to select the folder the textures are drawn from??
Or am i too late for this...
Im open to all sensible options other than spending ages re doing all the files again

Hi, in the file menu for shape view there is the option to open a second shape which you can add to the previous one ie add a load to a wagon or add the tender to an engine.
Hope this helps

Yes thanks for the help, i know what your saying but the actual wagon is irrelivant, its the load im after. The wagon will load with textures as the S file is setup for it to ask for the textures from the folder its in. Where as the load isnt, its set up in a common.loads folder so has a string inside the S file to tell it where the Texture map is.
It shows in S viewer the String but i wondered if there is a way it can be tricked, or should it find it anyway??

I don't know of any way around this.
95% of my loads use RCH_Loads.ace and the aliasing avoids repeating this in each load folder. However Shape Viewer cannot follow the aliasing inside the shape file.
I used to include unaliased shapes but the folder was getting to big. I have them in my personnal version.
I'll shunt them out for you.

Re: S Viewer - Bit late in the day perhaps?
I remember you did the FKA for me a while back, this is for something similar. But i hadnt wanted to go back through the entire process of having rename each ace mind you i guess i can do the above with one s file and keep renaming the ACE to show it. Just seems long and drawn out when a function like that could be added?? Im not programmer otherwise i would like to have had a go at it. Maybe if i ask nicely maybe Paul might show up and do it. lol. Even a pull down section and being allowed to find the relevant ace file would be good so it can display. I guess it all sounds easy maybe its not as easy as that??
