Having to much installed?

Post by champy »

Is there a limit to the amount of locos you can have installed on MSTS ?
( apart from in Con Builder )

I have 4.31 Gig installed and rising of Locos , Wagons and Coaches

And Is there a limit to the amount of routes u have installed on MSTS?

I have started to get minor loading problems and crashes

Feel a Bit like BR 'Getting There'
but V slowly :-?

There seems to be a limit of 899 consists (though others have hapily had more). Too many trains on their own is not a problem, they are ignored if not in consists. Also lots of paths and services may well upset msts, but I don't see a problem with many routes (other than paths and services above).

899 is that in MSTS or the Con builder. Because the con Builder did say it couldnt load all of the trains?

Would it be more sensible to have more than one trains folder i.e
New trains , Old trains ?

Also as you are a chief tester of the excellent Mid East route, is there going to be another Activity Creation toolkit for this version or at least an insite into what freight depots are for what freight trains?

As i have downloaded the maps which are usefull and the ECML Activity creation kit came with a healthy doc in to how and what was expected to run in this area.

Im keen on doing a less popular activity( Not a MGR or nothing to do with March) to be as different to the others.

I don't know for sure, I guess 899 valid ones as far as MSTS is concerned.

You don't need to move trains, just consists, but if you are not careful you will get errors on startup.

As for MidEast, I don't know of any plans for activity kit or anything; but maybe the chap who did the last one will update.

The maps are still under development, so it may be worth dropping the creator a PM or email and suggesting that. I think it would be a good idea.

Had a problem with too many paths on the ECML. Never heard of too many consists though.
