My wish would be for a detailed 1950's route for Exeter - Plymouth. Within the 60 miles or so there's fast bits, slow bits, scenic runs along seawalls and over curving viaducts, four ferocious inclines and three large junctions (including Newton Abbbot). The stretch is already included on two existing routes, but neither include much of the 1950's detail and interest.

Also, I'd wish for Swansea 2 . There were some great screenshots from johnarran a couple of years ago of progress with version 2, which was adding much of the fascinating network of lines around Swansea as well as upgrading the existing Swansea-Carmarthen section found in V1.

Best Wishes to all builders of existing and future routes. :D :D

Reawakening memories of train-spotting in the late 1950's and 1960's : Colne, Skipton, Hest Bank, Preston (Farington), Hellifield, Pilmoor, York South, Dawlish and Swansea. Great times!

Hi,

I'd Quite like to have the Metropolitan line because back in England it ran behind the garden fence so you could see them.

Glasgow - Carlisle V3 IS the route I want to see, hence why I took up the 'baton' to complete it.

Motherwell - Perth.

+With a connection in London between GWR route and Thames Mersey we could go all the way from Penzance to Thurso.

The S.Wales route by Chris Young in my opinion is an exellent route.I know he said version 3 was the end BUT those Welsh valleys and the route beyond Swansea to Fishguard,Milford Haven and Pembroke Dock surely beckon!!!!!!

i would like to see that too becausse i live in kent and have always thought that London to Dover/Ramsgate/Ashford is one of the busiest in the uk. being one of the younger generation i would like to see the electric stuff but i would still get it if it was steam.
i would also like to see more routes for LSC such as South croydon to East Grinstead/Ukfield and the line that runs from London to Horsham via Dorking.

This is the last post for me tonight - a tear forms in his eye as the flag slowly dips - as I have just remembered an earlier query!

I would like to see the Oldham Loop added to the Caldervale route. Perhaps if any work has been done on it, I might be prepared to have a go and take it forward - gulp did I really just say that? This seems more poignant with the end of rail services in October this year, prior to the Metro extension out to Rochdale in 2012 - buses for 3 years!!!!! Even though the Mancunians gave a resounding NO to Congestion charging I believe the extension will still go ahead.

Ruf

PS I suppose the original route still needs some work on scenery, etc.

Yes what happened to the new Caldervale Route, wasn't Desiro involved with this one? It seems as though it has been abandoned. Surely if all the files are still available, maybe someone else can take it on board, it would be a shame to pull the plug on this one, now that MSTS has a new lease of life, due to TS2 being shelved.

Ive asked DC often if he would link the Kensington Olympia line from Clapham Jct to Willesden Jct on Thames Mersey so we could drive right through. Alas it would be too big for msts to handle i think :(

I would really like to see this route done as well, along with the branches to Oldham and the Standedge route from Manchester Piccadilly to Leeds via Huddersfield. I wouldn't mind taking on this route as i now it fairly well, athogh i would need someone else to help me too. I would really like to see it done from the early 1980's to the late 1990's, when there was proper stock on the lines.

I have thought of another good route would be Edingborough to Aberdeen as it wwould include both the Forth and Tay Bridges,a good route to thrash A1 to A4's on expresses or maybe a Deltic or Cl 40.

It's a pity Scotish Central wasn't finished but looking forward to Kerr's MT Scottish Route.

Sorry about spelling mistakes, but just out of hospital after another stroke.
