From 1906 electric was changed for steam at Wembly Park - from 1908 changeover was at Harrow, and from 1925 the Met was electrified to Rickmansworth. (Including the Watford Branch).

The change over from electric to steam at Rickmansworth was timetabled to take less than three minutes.

In a similar vein, Heathfield station, in Sussex has a claim to fame for a 'first'.

What was it?

Sigh... Ok I've decided that for my next question there will be a rule that if you know the awnser, you will be allowed to awnser the question but you must not post what the awnser is so that others can cheat. Is that ok with everyone?

Well done Numnutz, Heathfield was the first to be lit by natural gas, back in the 19th century. It was discovered locally when they were expecting to find water - must have been a bit of a shock.
