Dark cloud - MSTS2 may be dead.
Silver Lining - a new lease of life for other train simulators, especially MSTS?
Those sat waiting for TS2, might start content creation again.
Cheers

I'd personally say a new lease for Rail Simulator which has a lot more potential in it than MSTS. MSTS has been hacked with every tiny bit of improvement squeezed out of it. This is the simulator that still doesn't support widescreen resolutions and I feel that represents MSTS as a whole. How much further do you really think MSTS can go?

I don't think widescreen is very important... I haven't got a widescreen monitor.
Nothing that has been 'tweaked' in the last 18 months has stopped KRS looking too 'toy' like to me.

Don't go to the dark side.....

.... stay in the light.
I started this thread.... because the other one is full of KRS supporters.

Are you sure that isn't because a lot more people support krs than you think?

I must admit it did confuse me more than usual today trying to follow the conversations in 3 different threads.
Ah well - Easilyconfused is my chosen name for a good reason

Aha you've just been infiltrated by the dark side! I thought I'd pop over here and see what the opposition think of all this

I think it's unfortunate that things have to boil down to whether you're a KRS or MSTS supporter. It's your blatant provocative responses against Rail Simulator which brings people out in support of Rail Simulator. I don't know what you expect when you post those comments, no-one to come out and defend Rail Simulator? If you didn't want to attract pro Rail Simulator comments in the other thread, you shouldn't have posted your comments, you only have yourself to blame.

It's hard to know exactly where to stand on this (MSTS v RS) - I've made my comments about RS based on my initial experiences.
Wide-screen and super-duper graphics are not that important to me. "Playability" is, and from what I've seen, MSTS has better AI support than RS, however in certain areas RS is better than MSTS.
I have to say that it's a shame that MS have decided their "games" teams are to go, as I'd have thought that in these times, people would be more likely to stay in and play computer games etc than go out every Friday for a heavy drinking session or whatever.
