Re: Volume
Only by altering the sound settings in options. But turning them up, assuming they are not already on max, can cause other problems. You could try it though.

Re: Volume
Hi Art,
I presume you refer to the default signalman. This bugged me for ages.
Then came Pat Daltons Skipton 1920s and the replacement signalman wav files.
My soloution was to, open Sound in the Train Simulator Folder locate:
s_perm_01.wav
s_perm_02.wav
s_perm_03.wav
d_perm_01.wav
d_perm_02.wav
d_perm_03.wav
e_perm_01.wav
e_perm_02.wav
e_perm_03.wav
Back all of them up or rename them all ******.wavorig or something.
Use Pats version to replace, first the s_perms.
Then replace the d_perms now rename the 's' to 'd'
Then do the same with the e_perms renaming the 's' to 'e'.
This will give you a Yorkshire accent where ever you run.
If you get it wrong delete the new files, replace the backup or rename the the originals back to ****.wav.
All this assumes you have Pat's Skipton 1920's.

Re: Volume
Hi Art,
It will not hurt to look in the Sound file. The names I gave are as the .wavs are named in the file.
Do you know how to get to the Sound file?
Come back where you are not sure and we'll try to go through it.
Seriously it's not that hard.abclare wrote:

Hi Art,
OK.
Get there and look for these.
s_perm_01.wav
s_perm_02.wav
s_perm_03.wav
Rename these to this
s_perm_01.oldwav
s_perm_02.oldwav
s_perm_03.oldwav
and paste Pats Files into Sound.
Teas up so come back later

Re: Volume
Hello Art,
If you are running Windows XP you could use the Windows Sound Recorder (found in Accessories). This lets you open
the sound file and increase its volume (see the effects tab). Once you have got the volume right, you can save the file and it should play at the new volume in MSTS. Might be an idea to make a back up of the original file first, in case the modifications go pear-shaped!
