With the New Year approaching fast, I thought I'd post here to catch some of the newer members who perhaps don't browse other parts of the forum to explain about one of the other sides of UKTrainSim....the UKTrainSim Live shows.

UKTrainSim Live is a train simulation demonstration stand, where we show continuous running of a variety of the popular and newer add-ons for both MSTS and KRS. The main purpose of the stand is to promote the hobby, the community and the website to as wide an audience as possible. We provide advice and guidance to anyone looking to getting started in train simming, and also give UKTS members a chance to get to meet other members and those involved in UKTS.

We attend, by invitation only, a variety of model railway shows throughout the country, including several of the larger events. Do take a look at reports from the exhibitions we've attended over the past seven years...complete with the obligatory embarrassing photographs :) :

The first show of 2009 is in Warwick, and we'll be at locations all over the country throughout the year. We even have a confirmed invitation to a show in 2010. See the UKTrainSimLive exhibition calendar for details of the shows for 2009. Not all the shows we have been invited to are listed at present, but entries will be added as the dates become available:

If you've not come along to one of the shows where the UKTrainSim Live stand before....then 2009 will be a good time for you to do so. Not only will you get to see the stand and meet some of the crew, but you'll get the opportunity to pick up a bargain from one of the trade stands or take a look at some of the model railway layouts...some of which I have to admit are extremely good.

Finally, if you do come along.....please don't be afraid to say "Hello". It’s nice for us to put faces to names as well. And, apart from that we have no problems with you hanging around and lending a hand...it's nice to get the chance of a break from driving one of the demo machines.
