Changing the axis of a shape

Hi all,

Is there any way at all I can change the axis of a shape without shifting it? I've only realised after placing about 50 of said objects that I can't rotate it satisfactorily, so I need to redo the axis somehow. I've placed the thread here for a bit greater exposure to all the MSTS geniuses.

Any help is appreciated,

Cheers
Tim

Hi Tim
I'm still unsure ........ but these treads discussed it recently

Hi there,

Which pragram did you use to create your objects?

Hi Mickrik, I use Sketchup.

I tried moving the axis in SU but it has had no effect :(. Basically I'm looking for a way to rotate these objects around a central axis without them shifting in-route when I edit the shape file. I presume this is impossible and the manual way of re-placing all the objects is likely.

Jon, thanks for the links but they're not exactly what I'm looking for.

Hi Tim
I've built some simple shapes in SU, and they seem to rotate.
Now don't quote me, but isn't the normal axis the red one, and the blue one is at 90 degrees to that.

Cheers

Hi Jon,

The problem isn't that they don't rotate, it's just that I've built a shape with the axis on one corner (i.e where the 3 axes join up). I can rotate it laterally, but when I try to elevate one end it ends up at a horrible angle.

Sorry if I'm not describing my problem very well here  :P .
