I have a couple of things I was wondering if people who know this line could helpe me out with.
I know that in the summer on a saturday a number of XC and FGW HSTs use this branch, and also that a max speed is about 35mph,the few things I'm wondering are these.
The 1322 to Paddington arrives at Par 1419 almost 1 hour to cover 20 miles, does the HST literally crawl along the line?
Also I noticed the 1248 off Plymouth gets to Newquay at 1449 so would have to pass the 1322 at some point,is this done at St Blazey before entering the single line section if so the down XC service is booked to leave Bodmin at 1324 and non stop through Par so that would mean a 40 minute wait at St Blazey?
I'm doing an activity for Paddington to Penzance 10,44 Bristol to Newquay and at the moment I'm waiting 40 minutes at St Blazey for the 1322 to clear,I don't mind doing this but would like to know if this happens in reality or whether the down HST goes along the branch to a passing loop.
I hope I've explained things clearly and that someone can help me out
Jamie

Re: Newquay summer services
In the current timetable a number of trains are given 52 minutes for Newquay to Par.

Re: Newquay summer services
Hello Jamie,
This would be for the GWR padd - Penz route then.
The trains actually pass just south of Luxulyan at a place called 'Goonbarrow Loop' complete with operating semephores and signal box, but the loop is not in the MSTS route, and the closest loop will be at Luxulyan (not a loop in real life as the mentioned Goonbarrow loop is south of here).
The HST's do crawl down the line, I've been on one last year on a MML hire in set, and there are places that have TSRs as the track is not upgraded for HST's, the TSRs can be as low as 5mph! There is one other slow one i know over a river at a limit of 10mph.
Hope that helps
Cheers,
James.

Please do not open duplicate threads on the same topic. As your question is about real timetable issues, this thread http://forums.uktrainsim.com/viewtopic. ... 0#p1065800 seems the more appropriate one, so I'm locking this one.
