It wasn't abandoned. The author chose to join "Making Tracks" and use the route as the basis for "Scottish Capitals Express".
Available in 20** from making Tracks.
:o

I thought Scottish Capital Express was being built from Scratch, isn't that why it only includes the route from Edinburgh Waverley to Glasgow QS?
Are you telling me that the entire route, including the Forth Rail Bridge, the line to Dundee etc are being included now?
If that isn't the case then I still class the route as being abandoned as it isn't including the trackwork from the original project, that makes it an entirely different project to me.

It would be great if the forthcoming Scottish express route, could be joined up with Scottish Central as an add-on or something... :-?

Lee is right in the sense that the Scottish Central route remains unfinished and SCE is a brand new route - although I understand it will use the same Waverley model, ikt will not share the same trackwork. Unless by some fluke the world tiles co-ordinates matched, I don't see how it would be possible to link the two routes together. Nevertheless, I get a load of pleasure from the old route and I'm certain I'll get at least as much from MT's new one. :D

You can drive from Waverley to Queen Street on Scottish Central, also it's possible to reach Central station, albeit without scenery.
Here's Queen Street on Scottish Central.

and Queen Street on SCE

There are cosmetic changes at Waverley with the basic track plan remaining the same.
Rest assured, there's no plans to join the two routes. ( AFAIK )
