Right don't know what to say here really but here goes, I have purchased the thames mersey dvd add-on for MSTS and intalled everything to my laptop that has a DVD -/+ RW on it with 120gb hard drive, all installed well. So when I click on train simulator it starts loading up then when it gets about 3/4 of the way up it freezes and nothing seems to happen at all and when i do CTRL,ALT + DEL together it comes up MSTS is not responding, is there anything I need to do as I would love to do the activities and routes but I have been waiting over 20mins for MSTS to start.

Craig TM is a massive route and if your not running Trainstore it will take ages to load, and dont forget to copy the latest T section back into your global folder.
Browse the DVD and there is a folder Trainstore install that and read the getting started section, if you use the Easy Mode you'll soon be flying around

As John has said, the sheer size of TM means that it will take in excess of 25 minutes to load if you do not run trainstore. Use trainstore and that time will reduce to seconds

Yes. Once you install TrainStore, you then access MSTS every time via the TrainStore utility.
It may on the face of it seem a bind.....but the advantages gained are well worth it. Not only will MSTS load quicker, it will run smoother with higher framerates on most routes. With only the basic information on the route and rolling stock for the activity you are running being held, there's more space available in memory to hold details about the route you're running.

Just a note to say that when you first load Train Store and start to use it, it can take a long while for the program to store away all the information, particularly if you have a number of large routes. Tbis can be a bit worrying, but it is a first time event and doesn't happen afterwards. A large route can still take a fair time to load up even with Train Store, but a lot, lot less than without it.

Adding to Tonys comment, Trainstore will take a long time to load whenever you have previous;y unstored everything as well, but as everyone says it isn't a major worry, I'd sooner wait for 5mins for Trainstore to open MSTS than wait hours for MSTS to open without it.

Right I've downloaded Trainstore, yet when I go to explore route through trainstore or try to run an activity through trainstore I am now getting this following message:
Region Load Error: parent Trackmonitor does not exist
What does this actually mean?

That error is due to msts trying to load too many consists. Are you running the activities using easy trainstore? if not you will have to store all the activities you are not using before running the one you want. Its best to use EasyTrainstore as that does it all for you. Just pick the activity you want to run and click run. If you want to use Explore Route you must ensure that all activities are stored or else you will get that error again.

Yes was using easy trainstore. Thought it may have been a problem with the add-on

Yes was using easy trainstore.
Thats strange as that is a known error which is fixed by trainstore. I think I would try unstoring all from within trainstore (NOTE Not uninstalling but unstoring) and then try running a single activity again using easytrainstore and see what happens. It sounds like the consists were not stored the first time around.

Hi
Have you got a lot of user created consists ?
When Train Store has run, how many consists are still in the consist folder ?
Cheers
Jon

Not got any user consists, just the ones that are pre-loaded onto MSTS, have not checked the consist folder, but am assuming its the whole lot of the consists that were originally built into MSTS
