MSTS keeps switching back to windows screen

Hi all,
I've been happily using MSTS for some months now, but suddenly (coincidently just about the time I installed the official MSTS patch) it's started doing something very annoying.

Although the game itself is fine, when I am in the title screen or menus it keeps jumping from the graphics mode of the game back to the main windows screen, as though I'd pressed ALT-TAB or ALT-RETURN.

I can sort of get through by continually pressing the left mouse button in these screens, but it's really irritating having to continually switch back to the game and click on the right buttons before it goes back to Windows.

It could be something in my Windows environment, but I'm starting to suspect the patch.

Has anyone had a similar problem?

Its usually something running in the back ground that would cause this.
Like anti-virus, or an email programme, or a music player, find fast in office.
Do any messages pop up ?
Occassionally after starting MSTS, the menu screen flickers.
A re-boot stops this for me.
You could also try running Mprofile in the main TS folder, this will redetect the graphics card.

It could also be the video card driver, I've had versions in the past (a year or two ago) that caused a lot of screen flipping during the MSTS startup.
