Thanks to Martin Pope

I had not run the Cambrian 2 Route for some time and I discovered that all my Cambrian 2 loco's had lost their Cab Sounds for some unknown reason since the last time I had run a Cambrian 2 Activity, so I decided that a re-install of the loco's from the CD was the simpliest solution to cure the problem.

Having sorted that peculiar problem out, I decided to download the new Activity "Not in my Manor" to give the Route a trial run to check everything was OK and I would like to say what a joy it was to run this Activity. Martin has put a lot of thought into producing this and the Timetable schedule has been made to be tight and achievable, although the 'little' Manor has to be pushed a bit hard sometimes, although I never had to run at full line speed at any point. There is a good amount of oncoming AI traffic and I especially liked the timings/meetings with the 4F Goods at the start after leaving Shrewsbury and the Dovey Junction 'Local' departure, both timed perfectly with the Player. The 'Winter' Season for the Activity gives some really nice sky textures throughout the Activity and the arrival at Aberystwyth in the failing light is very atmospheric and I especially liked the Platform lights coming on whilst looking around the Station, waiting for the Activity to end.

Thank you very much Martin and well done, I can recommend this 'Activity' to any 'Steam' Simmers who enjoy keeping to the timetable and the nice thing about this one is no downloads required

Hi,
Thanks for the kind remarks, the early morning and evening winter sunshine does add a lot to this route.
I've still got a few more activities in the pipeline but am running out of ideas!

Not In My Manor was actually a bit of a cheat, I took a copy of the King George V Goes To Butlins files and changed the start time, final destination, season and worked it all out from there.
The co-ordination of the 4F and the other Manor was fun, I wouldn't dream of attempting something like that at the end of an activity.

Cheers

I'd just like to add my appreciation and thanks for the superb activities created by martin for this route. If there's a "gap" to be filled at the moment, it would be early diesel activities - Rattus Cambrianus? :P

Hi Ash,
I've had a BR Blue diesel activity at the back of my mind for a while, but I was put off by the (relatively) poor take-up on the BR Green diesel activity I did a while ago.
Maybe I should try making it more authentic and less downloads. I admit Green Is The Colour is outrageously unauthentic, but is it that or all the downloads involved?

If I do the BR Blue activity I've decided to restrict it to classes 37, 25 and 20 (a few).

Cheers
