For those who wish to purchase Scottish Central CD, I have to regret that Scottish Central CD has been withdrawn a couple of weeks ago, I have just heard that today. Some Stock exclusive to Scottish Central have became obselete. The Route Itself is still available for download from File Library (the version is the same as the CD if you have all the patches installed to V1.2!) as well as some trains.

Scottish Central CD was released in 2005 by Kerr McIntosh and the route and stock was set in around 1995 - 2004 era when ScotRail was franchised by National Express. When most of Community CDs had to be withdrawn because of copyright issues during the infamous Withdrawals of CDs of January 2006, Scottish Central was withdrawn for just 3 days and was also the first to return, as only 1 object was replaced.

As I said, Scottish Central CD is no longer available and on the bright side, Making Tracks are currently developing Scottish Capital Express, which will run from Glasgow Queen Street to Edinburgh Waverley.

It has been popular and we would like to thank to Kerr McIntosh and everyone for their hard work making this Scottish Central CD possible during the past 3 Years.

Hi, yes I have my copy which I picked up at one the UKTrainsim Live shows a couple of years ago and is a superb route.
The detail on the Forth Rail Bridge is breath taking and I travelled over it for the first time at the start of May on my trip up to Inverness and then onto the Kyle of Lochalsh and Wick and Thurso.

Yes, that is a shame!! This is a superb route! In a dream world, it would be great if Making Tracks could join the forthcoming "Scottish Express" route to the current Scottish Central!

It would be good if MT could actually release anything.

For your information someone from MT tried to help fill the gaps but uploading some Mk.2 Coaches using the EHP2 model in Scotrail livery. They have also half completed the DBSO to go with the stock.....

Maybe this is a case of jumping on the bandwagon or maybe not, but either way, I'd suggest you visit the forums on the MT website and post your views there, which (as you may know) they are actively seeking. As for UKTS, nothing to see here, please move along folks....

Same here I still have my copy, plus I agree with you about the Forth bridge, I travelled over it going home to Peterborough and the details of it are stunning

The CD only needs the Mk2 coaches replaced.

What is needed is someone to co-ordinate the work.

To get permission for existing repaints of the EH2 coaches and request the missing types.

And to edit the consists and test the activities.

It's a dam shame that Kerr, couldn't have finished off this route with all terraforming and scenery done, in the parts that are devoid of anything. It is one of my favourite routes, mainly because it incorporates the Forth Bridge, which must be THE BEST structure ever built for MSTS. Hat's off to the guy who modelled it!!!

On my version of Scottish Central, I have added a bit more scenery, just to take off some of the bareness beyond Rosyth and South of Edinburgh, but it needs someone better than I to turn it into something that ressembles the Scottish scenery.

Why Making Tracks, couldn't have done a Version 2 of this route or incorporated it in with the Scottish Capitals, would be nice to know, as I am sure it would have been a hit and well worth paying for. There are not many Scottish routes for MSTS and Scottish Central has been a favourite with most of us, whether you run steam or modern image.

Scottish Central has scenery and terraforming in Edinburgh and Fife, with the Famous Forth Bridge and the rest having been unfinished, nut despite this, it is one of the best and most popular route. The route itself is still available in the download section. Thankfully, I bought that CD 3 years ago, and was one of my favourite route.

One of the commercial packs, LNER Pacifics, was produced by BATS which ceased trading last year, contained 14 activites including some for freewere Scottish Central route even!

I've always thought Scotland is quite well served with MSTS routes - Scottish Central, Highland Mainline, Ayr - Stranraer, North Glasgow, Far North, West Highland, Carlisle - Glasgow, plus a couple of others that are around and the forthcoming MT route. A veritable feast of routes

Whilst Ayr-Stranraer is a Scottish route, its author will agree that it is a very early example of his work and is not providced with much scenery. A new up to date version would be great!
