.... the 'Point Indicator' (f8 in MSTS), instead of showing the NEXT point, actually showed the next FACING point. After all, when one is trundling along, if it is a trailing point ahead, it cannot be change anyway.

yea but if you press g or shift+g it changes the next facing point in front or behind you anyway.

I never knew that .... I always press it quickly between the trailing and facing point.

Strange, I have knew that for ages. You can see whether a point is changed if there is an arrow going along the box in F4.
