Hi, How long did you wait at the red signal? I an activity you should not have to tab for permission unless requested to do so. If there is a lot of A1 traffic you could after wait while the train that you almost ran into clears the Station.
If all else fails PM the Activity creator. :D

OK, there should be absolutely no need to TAB to pass any of the signals. I believe you are referring to the section between Surbiton and Woking where you are diverted from the fast line onto the slow due to a couple of failed trains in front of you. You may have to wait for the AI to clear the sections so that you can move onto the slow line. I have used multiple wait points here to get this to work.

As for the messages, I cannot trace any sign of them in the activity file used to create the APK file, so am not sure what to suggest - the only types of messages that I'm aware of are pop-up ones which you have to "OK" to return to the activity, so if these were included, it shouldn't cause a problem. Is there any chance you can either take a note of what they say at which location or take a screen print for me?

Thanks

Hi all

Many genuine thanks for the work Geoffrey has put into the Waterloo to Portsmouth activity recently posted on UKTrainsim.com, and to all the other activity, route and stock creators. I'm incredibly grateful for all the hours of enjoyment you've all given me.

Unfortunately I can’t get the GS Waterloo-Porstsmouth Harbour via Guildford activity to unpack (by either method).

When I try I get an error message that says ‘This package requires a route called Dorset Coast V5, UID Dorset’. Never seem that one before.

I definitely have the Dorset Coast Route correctly installed. I started with the CD and upgraded to V4 and then V5 with the files posted on UKTrainsim. All the files are installed in the correctly name folder (‘Dorset’) as required. I’ve installed the extra activity stock listed in the readme.

I'm running the sim on an fairly recent XP machine with 1GB RAM - the hardware is enough to cope with (most of!) the route with ease. X-Track, MSTS bin etc etc are all properly installed.

I’ve installed other V5 activities involving the Portsmouth lines which all work fine, including another ex Waterloo one (and several other activities for the other Dorset lines as well) so I just don't understand what the problem is.

Does anyone have any ideas…?

The error is because the sim doesnt think you have V5 installed. I believe that occurs sometimes because the trk file which contains the route info has been overwritten by something else, or just not updated correctly when you did the upgrade. I believe its possible to edit this file manually in wordpad or notepad. I believe Ian MacMillan has posted how to do that fairly recently for another activity.

A search on his name might find it :)

Just to expand upon what Laurie says, this problem will also happen if you try to install any activity when the route itself is stored in train Store. Unstore any route before attempting to install an activity for it.

It happens to me all the time Laurie - I often forget to check what's stored and what isn't! :D
