Hi.
I was just playing with MSTS when I just realised something about my Framerates, when I play the EastCoast Express Series or London South Coast I seem to get really slow framerates, 10-15fps even in the country areas, the specs are about 1.5Ghz, 256MB RAM, and 128MB Video RAM. When I play with Great Eastern or Dorset Coast I can get more than double that (20-50) even in the busy areas like Stratford and Clapham, yet these need higher specs such as 3Ghz, 256MB graphics and 1 GB of RAM. Does anybody know why?

Re: Framerates
Im confused by your post
What size is your graphics card? 128mb or 256mb?
256 mb of ram isnt anywhere near enough to run Windows and Msts, but 894mb is plenty.
Msts runs equally well with a 128mb card or a 256mb card.
1.5Ghz, 256MB RAM, and 128MB Video RAM
So how much RAM have you got? 256mb or894mb?... the specs are about 1.5Ghz, 256MB RAM, and 128MB Video RAM. Re: Framerates
Hi
I think he is quoting the min specs quoted by EB as suitable to run their addons.
I think the problem is some routes run better than others because they have been optimised.
The skill of the route builder is making sections look built up, but are not.
Any framerate above 25 for moving video will be fine as that is what human eyes register.
Cheers
Jon

Re: Framerates
Jbilton is correct, I was quoting the specs from the EB and Makingtracks-Online, but do you know why EB routes run slower, and how could I raise the framerates on the EB routes without having to install a new graphics card.
Cheers.

I thought I had explained above.
Its because routes need to be optimised.
You can place lots of high polly buildings to make a built up area, but its going to hit the framerates.
