Hi Chris
Well try this information
How can I adjust the volume of the sound that is recorded?
You must configure the volume through the "Sounds and Audio Devices" item in the Control Panel. Use the following steps:
Click on the Control Panel and select Sounds And Audio.
Click on the Audio tab.
Find the Sound Recording device and click Volume.
Adjust the volume for the Input that Fraps is recording from. This is usually named "What U Hear", "Record Master", or "Stereo Mixer".
If you can't see the correct Input on screen you may need to enable it by clicking on Properties in the menu and ensuring all Inputs have a check beside their name.
Mine is setup as 'Stereo Mixer'
Cheers
Jon

Just can't get it to work on the desktop, despite doing the aforementioned and also searching on the net.
Gutted as really wanted to do a special video. It works fine on my laptop, but as the spec is so much lower the frame rates are horrendous. Going to unistall it for now and maybe try a later version when released.

It probably has nothingh to do wit this, but on my Music Notation program forum,it frequently comes up that some programs automatically set certain inputs in the Volume Control to zero. Selecting Start>All Programs>Accessories>Entertainment>Volume Control, allows you to restore the inputs.

Hi Jon,
I have tried to find and alter the volume for the input Fraps is recording from but I can not seem to find the tab to edit this. The screenshot below shows what I see after going in to Control Panel, Sound and Audio Devices?.
If it is working on your PC, its strange that it is'nt working for me or Niall?

Cheers
Chris
