Problem with installing RailDriver

I recently bought a second hand RailDriver.

The software that came with it was the the original disc but a file named rdmsts.exe V1.4.0.7. I installed the program but when I started to download the drivers, it hung at 10% then gave a timed out message.
Another message came up saying that "driver loading almost complete, click ok after the Add New Hardware Wizard has completed".

I was able to calibrate the controller and use the Cab Editor, but when I clicked Play a message came up, PIBusDriver not found, (a PIBus DLL.DLL file). I had to press OK to clear the message making the Train Simulator to load.

When I try to drive a train the only thing that works on the controller is the LED which can change to RUN to 0, none of the levers or buttons work. Could this problem stem from the driver software?

Can anyone please help me to get this thing working or maybe there is someone out there that may have a spare copy of the original set up disc.

Thanks folks

Hi,
Welcome to the forums.
Did you see the unit working before you bought it?
It might be a damaged CD. The latest software driver can be down loaded from the RailDriver web site. 'PI Enginering'.

Hope this helps.

Or you could email this to tech@raildriver.com, not normally due to a faulty disk but basically Pibus is a driver that drives the controls on the raildriver - if you email tech and tell them what version of Windows you are using etc, you should get an answer fairly quickly, remember this is in the US and they are 5 hours behind the UK.

Thanks for your help folks.

I found the root of the problem after contacting Tech Support, which incidentally were very quick in replying.

Rail Driver will not work playing MSTS on Vista. However it will work playing Trainz. Fortunately I have Trainz installed already and it works a treat !!
