One Last thing Is
What's Max. ammount of Carriages that can be put behind a loco with out impeeding the points at the stationson the coast line?
The Stations I'll Be stopping at are Barmouth, Harlech, Porthmadog, Criccieth And pwllheli

Re: Loco's That used to run on the cambrian
Hi Ben, some of the locos used were as follows - GWR/WR 2251 class 0-6-0, GWR/WR 63xx 2-6-0, GWR/WR 'Dukedog' 90xx 4-4-0, GWR/WR 'Manor' 78xx 4-6-0, LMS/BR 2-6-0 465xx, BR 2-6-2T 82xxx, BR 2-6-4T 80xxx, BR 2-6-0 78xxx, BR 4-6-0 75xxx.
I think these were the main types and probably a few others.

The "Cambrian Coast Express" in 2007 ran with 6 coaches (as illustrated here: http://37427.fotopic.net/p44422538.html)bharrison wrote:What's Max. ammount of Carriages that can be put behind a loco with out impeeding the points at the stationson the coast line?
Circa 1921 trains ran with about 4 coaches.
By the 1960s I think it was 6.
When I travelled down the line in 2006 behind 37425 the railtour had 12 coaches.
All of them managed to fit within the loop tracks, although I don't know how accurate the loops in the sim are.
Cheers, Lee Scott. [aka 37518]

Re: Loco's That used to run on the cambrian
Hi Ben,
Further to the post by MrHillingdon, which looks absolutely right, remember that the Manor Class of locomotive was actually built for operating on the Great Western's ex-Cambrian routes. This, I think, used a Hall as a basis but a smaller boiler to reduce the overall weight of the loco. However, the class also has larger cylinders than a Hall to put more power into each stroke. Since the return to steam on the main line in the 70's, the larger cylinders have caused problems for Manor Class operators as there are quite a lot of routes where a Manor will not fit - and that now even includes the Cambrian lines!!!
(Forgive me if I've got the technical reasons wrong there).
I hae just done a search of the net looking for examples of loco's in action on the Cambrian routes in steam days - take a look at this site : http://www.locoperformance.co.uk/edition02/cambrian.htm as it has specific loco numbers and even the number of coaches on that service.
DLB.
