Making Tracks: Scottish Capitals
What stock (locos/units) have Making Tracks said they will be releasing for the upcoming route?
An ideal list in my opinion would be; Class 26/27, Class 47, Class 55, IC125, Class 101, Class 126.
What would other people add to this wishlist?

Re: Making Tracks: Scottish Capitals
I've just had a look at the MT forum, then Scottish Central and under loco's Dave Babb says loco's will be cl 47 and classes 26 and 27,DMU's a cl101 and possibly a cl107.
Looking in most screen shots there is a cl37 so I would imagine that will be included especially as they already do a decent one on Great Eastern.
A class 55 would be a bit out of place as the route runs between Glasgow Queen St and Edinburgh Waverley as as far as I know the 55's didn't run over that route. So they would only be AI or static stock at Waverley

Off the top of my head I believe it was...
08, 26, 27, 37, 47, 101 & 107. I believe the HST was not decided on.
Plus Mk1, Mk2 and M3 coaching stock, plus some wagons.
I am not sure if there was more, but the above is enough to keep me happy
After not buying any add-ons for a while, this one is going to be a must!
I'm sure DB will be along soon to confirm/deny the above!

Having seent he screenshots i think its their best work to date! Anyways, MT's policy of including as much stock as possible is better than just 2-3 token trains included by some others. The above list sounds great, although id love to see an orange/black SPT 107! As for the deltics, there are some fantastic freeware ones on UKTS!

To clarify, I think no decision has been made on the HST inclusion.
Jamie, I would love to see Orange and Black as well, but the very fact there will be new 101 and 107 models is good enough for me!

Re: Making Tracks: Scottish Capitals
Missed the class 20s which were common on the route.
Grangemouth had 21/29s and Haymarket had class 17 but these were scrapped a bit earlier than the route's intended period.
Eastfield was the maintainance depot for the area and had examples of all the classes seen in Scotland except the 40s which were at Haymarket They farmed out the locos to Motherwell and Grangemouth.
Polmadie was by then a sub shed of Motherwell having lost its work to the electrics at Shields Depot.
Classes were 04, 08, 20, 24, 25, 26, 27, 37, 40, 47 and 55.
31s were never seen in Scotland and 45/46 were rare as Scottish crews were never trained on them.
The 50s had gone to the Western.
DMUs were 101, 107, 116, and a few 121.
The class 126 were confined to the Ayrshire routes. The Glasgow-Edinburgh sets were a slightly different design which never got a TOPS code.
Late delivery of the 156 sets led to many English classes being transferred to Scotland to replace 100 and 105s which had been withdrawn.
This means that almost any blue square class could be seen, often in mixed sets.

That sounds about right to me.NiallGray wrote:Off the top of my head I believe it was...

As said the Class 55 does not really fit.
The HST is also a bit of a doubious link, but did at least run some trips to Glasgow. Given the selling power of a good HST, it will be considered for the route.

Re: Making Tracks: Scottish Capitals
The HSTs used to run a Saturdays Queen St - Scarborough holidaymaker I think. The Inverness - Kings Cross Highland Chieftain would be in the scope of the route, from Larbert Junction to Waverley via Falkirk Grahamstone too.
Also, did some ECML trains used to run to Queen St before the electrification diverted them into Central via the Carstairs route?
Either way, a 1980's Waverley would seem pretty empty without at least one HST knocking about!

Re: Making Tracks: Scottish Capitals
Hi,
But please include a 40! They were regulars on the route at the time; and they would make a nice addition to the route!
I think a HST would be good for the route! Although I thought MT were making a HST pack?
Anyway whatever engines MT put on the route, I'll still buy it! I’m glad they put more than about 3 or 4 pieces of stock on, unlike some…
Cheers,
Chester025
P.S Here's to the Making Tracks Team!

That sounds like a good line-up!NiallGray wrote:08, 26, 27, 37, 47, 101 & 107!

Re: Making Tracks: Scottish Capitals
My wish list will be; Class 20, Class 37, Class 47, IC125 & Class 101.
Mk1, Mk2 and Mk3 coaching stock and some wagons.
I have not bought any of MT's British routes before but after being pleased with the Irish Enterprise, I will be buying this route when is released. I hope this route will be as good as the Belfast to Dublin route.

What about it ?chrisiveson wrote:What about the 104?
Chris.![]()
I have so much stock thats been looked at / attempted never right anything off as impossible !

I found this model hidden in a DMU folder and it would appear that the thought of a 104 has already been considered, and a trial carried out to see if it was a practicle conversion from the 107.

Absolutely no kettles.
And not much in the way of locos. I think its a just 58 sat around loco wise. Nothing else got done.
