An observation on performance.
1. There are several threads in the various forums noting performance problems with MSTS and expressing the opinion that the various add-ons being produced are "pressing the envelope" to the limit.
2. There are several threads in the various forums concerning "minor" errors in syntax of the text files of MSTS and noting that checking utilities find these errors but that MSTS is able to compensate for the and to run.
My observation is a question. Are these two connected?

Not necessarily. MSTS has a number of limits 'built in' or those that are dependant on your PC's spec. As yet these are not fully understood or documented. The syntax of text files is important in that MSTS reads them even if the information isn't used, so errors will likely cause a program crash. If MSTS compensates that probably means some code has been written to avoid the worst problems but I wouldn't rely on that.

I don't think they are related. I have used Route-Riter, Activity Analysis, Route Control and ConBulider to get rid of as many (all?) of the errors, syntax and otherwise, as possible.
I still get problems which seem to be related to the add-ons. For example, I had real problems trying to run Judith's Garsdale Recovery activity. It would crash at seemingly random times. I removed the cow and horse sounds and the updated carriage sounds and it seemed to run with a lot fewer problems.
