Why isnt my area in msts?

Post by doyo91 »

i live in HULL, on the east coast, in yorkshire. i really like msts but my area isnt available to download or buy, n im not good enough to create it yet (i wont be for a long time).

hull has both passenger lines and goods lines which go around the city differently on different tracks. it is on the lines: hull to york, hull to scarborough, hull to kings cross, hull to doncaster, hull to leeds, hull to huddersfield, hull to manchester airport, hull to sheffield to name a few, and has many destinations.
it is also home to the hull trains locos to kings cross, which are available to download.

plus the lines go past the football stadium (where a small station will be built soon hopefully), hospitals and loads of other things.
the goods trains go to the coal yards at the docks and other things are there as well to load up goods. most of these staions are on the east coast express discs and others, and it is a real shame that hull isnt available for use in msts.
it would have the opportunity for quite a lot of activities as there is so many ways out of hull.

i really hope someone could try to make the area.
if you need anymore info on hull and the area please dont hesitate to ask me either through the forums or (preferably, more chance of me getting it) email me at mark.doy at hotmail.co.uk

I think asking 'Why..' is taking it the wrong way. It's not like anyone has anything against Hull and has decided deliberately to leave it out.

I would say that actualy Hull has a good chance of being covered in the future. The East Coast mainline series from EB already been extended three times right up to Doncaster and York. Maybe, after the Hertford Loop is released, an extension to the docks will be their next project.
MSTS, imagine how great it will be when it's finished!!!

Hull would be quite a challenge. As you say there are plenty of routes and sidings round the city and the docks. You also have the Humber Bridge which someone would have to build.

Who knows? Some day someone might get round to it.

The ting about route building, you have to want to build the route your self, or feel that you personally like the route if you are going to build it, and even then it can be difficult to keep going on your project. Someone may be doing a route with Hull in, but nowadays people tend not to announce routes until they are close to completion due to people disbelieving them and calling the route vapour-ware (has happened to me, though my projects are still on the go, just on the back burner at the moment due to other commitments.
If you really want a model of Hull, try dipping your toes into the world of RE make simple route first that goes from loop A to Loop B then go further, you'll get the hang of it sooner or latter, and once you do there'll be no stopping you ;)

Hello Everyone,

I wanted my local station (Bournemouth) modelled in MSTS, but I was willing to wait for it and thanks to Dave Corfield and co, it is now available in Dorset Coast. I like to just run trains, content creation just scares me witless, I like to download and enjoy other people's hard work. Since I live in a small flat, I have no space for a model railway and MSTS is there to keep me interested in railways. My job also keeps me interested in railways (I'm an on train steward).

Regards, Doug

I am totally with you there doyo and if you look to the right you will probably understand why. When I lived there you could add Hull to Withernsea, Hull to Hornsea and even Hull Parragon to Hull Boothferry Park!. Yes there was then a station at Hull City's stadium at Boothferry.
