We do not have to talk about this anymore as there are plenty going on and things speeding up again. You can lock this topic now. Thanks to everyone for your support.

As you'll have gathered from the posts your intitial post solicited you've joined a community that is passionate about it's subject. It's a vast international community too! ...and the level of support you've witnessed here will transfer on to other sims that replace this too. I'm pretty confident that my grandchildren, your children and their children will know what a Black Five was
In fact it may be the car that becomes a rarity rather than trains? Maybe two generations hence they'll be saying "Do you know they used to be able to drive THEIR OWN car's..AND...DRIVE THEM WHEREVER they wanted to go!!!
My top tip for future sims is "Car Driver" ... a sim based on petrol driven cars that went where their owners chose to roam. Featuring "historic" satellite imagery of "Motorways", "Turnpikes" and "Secondary roads". 3D models of cars through the ages with "actual" throttle, clutch, brake and gear change and ......steering wheels just like the real thing used to be.
Think that's daft? Even Top Gear has shown a BMW concept car that's driverless...based on satellite imagery/navigation technology available today. The Docklands Light Railway is already "Driverless".
I read a short story for my English GCE's in the early 60's that predicted much of what we have now. A cash free society with terminals that bought you all that you desired. You didn't have to leave your home "unit"..... When was it written? 80 years before I read it! It means that 140 years ago a guy sat down and imagined how my life is now!!!! They thought it was fanciful rubbish at the time of course.....
Geoff
PS
In the here and now ...do enjoy MSTS and future Train Sims. You know there's a lot of fellow fans waiting to help you enjoy the programmes.

Hi All,
This well OFF Topic, but do we have any Treckers? The 24th Century is getting closer by the day.
