Slight issues with otherwise outstanding TC_EH IC225 stock

Post by passedcleaner »

First of all, I realise we are lucky to get such exceptional models as freeware especially since BATS has folded. Many thanks, Tim, for such hard work and dedication.

However, I've downloaded the IC225 Swallow pack and there are a couple of points that I can't solve but you may be able to relatively easily...

1. The EB-aliased cabview on the DVTs is located at the wrong (corridor) end of the vehicle. Hence you end up looking at the coaches instead of where you're going :D I'm not sure whether this is only the case after exchanging the ENG and WAG files to alias them to the EB ones but I suspect not.

2. The red and yellow roof-height stripes on the Mk4 buffet car are the wrong way round. Yellow should be over the passenger area, red over the buffet area, not vice versa.

3. The consists that automatically generate are rather muddled (vehicles in the wrong order, wrong way round, DVT wrong way round, etc)

Apart from that (which I hope doesn't cause a major issue), a pretty awesome set of models all round (particularly the pass-view, I'm impressed).

Thanks

Seb

Hi Seb
Not sure, just checked the files and they seem OK here.
There should be 4 consists included.
There should only be one train with the DVT leading.
All the rest are with a Class 91 leading , as a Normal unit , as a breakdown unit, reversed for snow duties.
Cheers
Jon

I have downloaded it and had a run with it in explore mode and this has happened to me. I have the 3 parts of ECE.

Hi
Arh that would explain it , I think the cabviews were altered in ECE 3.
You'll have to edit the DVT.eng file to point to the new dvt cabview that came with ECE3.

It seems the problem only occurs if you change the ENG files to the EB ones.
The problem is in the DVT engine file it is calling for the wrong shape file, TC_EH2_MK4_DVT_IC_REV.s instead of TC_EH2_MK4_DVT_IC.s. I changed mine and now everything is facing the right way round including the cabview.

Regards
Ken

Hi Ken
Yes I see.
Comparing the download with the version I originally tested for Tim, the shapes have changed.
So you'll need to do the opposite to the DVT_Rev.eng file as well.
Sorry about that.

Hi Jon

Sorry I forgot to mention that I had to change the DVT Rev file as well.

Well now I am lost.

I have just gone in to conbuilder and changed it's direction, re-saved it and exited. I guess that will work.

Hello Folks
This is what I'm getting for the Passenger View.
Image

I'm running on MT's Great Eastern. With bin patch 1.6. I have only had this problem once before but it was fixed by adjusting the LOD. I can't see anything wrong with the MK4 coaches. This is the passenger cam in the wag file.

Inside (
PassengerCabinFile ( "..//TC_EH2_Pass_Views//MK4_IC//BATS_MK4_IC_Inside.s" )
PassengerCabinHeadPos ( -0.26834 2.587752 -4.71769 )
RotationLimit ( 30 65 0 )
StartDirection ( 0 180 0 )
Sound ( "genpasswagmodern.sms" )

I'm stumped.

Cheers Tony 8)

Hi Tony
If your not getting an error message, ie you haven't installed the IC MK4 passengerview.
Then the only thing I can suggest is try turning round the start direction

Inside (
PassengerCabinFile ( "..//TC_EH2_Pass_Views//MK4_IC//BATS_MK4_IC_Inside.s" )
PassengerCabinHeadPos ( -0.26834 2.587752 -4.71769 )
RotationLimit ( 30 65 0 )
StartDirection ( 0 180 0 )
Sound ( "genpasswagmodern.sms" )

Inside (
PassengerCabinFile ( "..//TC_EH2_Pass_Views//MK4_IC//BATS_MK4_IC_Inside.s" )
PassengerCabinHeadPos ( -0.26834 2.587752 -4.71769 )
RotationLimit ( 30 65 0 )
StartDirection ( 0 0 0 )
Sound ( "genpasswagmodern.sms" )

Cheers

1. make sure you have the UKTS file UKTS_17483_TC_EH2_MK2_Passenger Installed, this contains all passenger views for EH2

2. Then check again, if you still get issues let me know, basically I want to get this right and sort it so accurate info is paramount.

Thanks people, you're quite correct, it was the shape file that was the wrong way round rather than the cabview at the wrong end (although they come to the same thing :D)

Yep, sorry guys, my fault, I think I boobed and sent Martin the wrong files for the model so you can put me in the stocks and throw tomatoes at me etc....

I'll get this sorted but you'll have to be a bit patient since I am 5 hours behind the UK so everything is likely to be later rather than sooner :)
