Its a hard one really - 317 isn't really suitable due to the pantograph and 455s dont look right

Where there's a will, there's a way. It would be nice though, I can imagine running it on a ME+ branchline....richard222 wrote:Its a hard one really - 317 isn't really suitable due to the pantograph and 455s dont look right

Maybe I've got it wrong but you could use the 317 driving cars in combination with the 455 centre cars which would get around the pantograph problem

Yes, you could (same for the late version class 455, but 3rd rail shoe would be ommited). Anyway, I have completed DMS for 210002, more work still to be done.koopertrooper wrote:Maybe I've got it wrong but you could use the 317 driving cars in combination with the 455 centre cars which would get around the pantograph problem.

Re: Converting Class 317 to Class 210
Class 210 photos are rare, i have to say, i searched everywhere for some. As you say, i am doing a class 210 just now. I am doing 210002 at the moment. I will post an update about the progress.ajax103 wrote:I know there's a few 317's that was uploaded in the last year or so mainly in One livery, now I've never had the pleasure of seeing a 210 but seeing as they are both more or less externally similar except half of one leading coach is taken up by the engine room, is it possible someday for one to make a appearance alongside the other DEMU's on UKTS.

Looking forward to seeing the progress mate:). Meanwhile, I have got a couple of projects up my sleeve that I am working on at the moment for 2008, but that's another story though. I will make a Coventry - Birmingham New Street activity exclusive for your class 210 on the West Coast Express route set in 1983.

Re: Converting Class 317 to Class 210
Great News, folks! Class 210 models have been completed. There are two class 210 models. One is 210001, representing four car set and and 210002 in 3 car. Two class 210 units are each different as they have a different engine. It has been tested and works fine.
Should be done shortly.

Will you be able to upload consists with them when you are happy with them, so a 3 car consist, a 4 car consist and although I' doubt it happened, a 7 car consist?glasgowworks wrote:Great News, folks! Great news though, looking forward to driving them, what cab do they have, someone here will no doubt correct me but would the 455 or 317 cab suffice?

Re: Converting Class 317 to Class 210
I would think the 455 cab would be the most sutable one to use with the 210 but as for the sounds, I heard one unit used a Valenta similar to the HST and the other one an MTU?!

To clear things up, I found this off the very useful TheRailwayCentre website:koopertrooper wrote:I would think the 455 cab would be the most sutable one to use with the 210 but as for the sounds, I heard one unit used a Valenta similar to the HST and the other one an MTU?!.

Hope that proves to be helpful as it's done in the past with me when I need research on trains.

Thanks for that mate. Now I know the facts, but I didn't think MTU even existed in the 1980's as I thought it was a recent type of engine being fitted into the HST's and buses that was offered from Cummins!

Not a problem, I know Wikipedia can be useful but you know as well as I do, you can't rely on it 100% per cent which is why I like using TheRailwayCentre as it covers EVERYTHING you need to know about UK trains.koopertrooper wrote:Thanks for that mate. I'm happy I was able to help,

Re: Converting Class 317 to Class 210
Class 313 - 322 uses 455 cabview and Networker sounds, or Cab and sounds from Great Eastern.
Class 210 could use Class 455 cabview, but for the sounds, 210 001 may use Class 43 sounds by Richard A,
and 210 002 use Peter Makosch's 170 sounds. I'll see what i can do.
