Does anyone know much about the new class 92's routes? - I read somewhere that they are capable and diagrammed to do international freight from UK to places like Italy and Germany. Is this the case? And if so, wouldn't trainsimmers like to simulate these services using say the freeware TGV routes etc.
Haven't seen any of this so far, just wondered if there was any more info. available anywhere. Got to be more fun than just running TGVs and Eurostars up and down.
Also sounds to me like a first - UK engines running abroad regularly. Take it some pretty specialised training must be involved.
Any info gratefully received!

Although within the sim you can run anything anywhere, freight on the continent will tend to use 'classic' lines.
LGVs tend to be unsuitable for freight because of conflicting train speeds and severe gradients which don't effect TGVs as much.
I presume there are other suitable continental routes available.
As a footnote the channel tunnel rail link is supposedly being built to carry freight. How this will work is a bit confusing. It can't operate during the day due to path conflicts, and most (if not all) of the LGVs on the continent are closed at night for maintenance work.
