Buying Great Eastern Second Hand

Post by samtrains »

Hi,

My friend got a copy of Great Eastern for his birthday and he has offered to sell it second hand to me - however i noticed that it has a registration key e.g GEA-ABCD-EFGH e.t.c. will this mean that when I load the game that it will not install? I'd rather not spend my money on something that won't work.

Thanks for any help...

cheers

bear in mind that if he sells it to you, he will need to remove the route from his PC to ensure that you are both legal.

...and he'll need to sell you the manual with the disk, else you won't be able to enter the code.

It will install, the code on the manual is the same on every other copy of GE, well i assume it is anyway, i had my own copy and a friends copy and took a look at the codes and both had the same.

Cheers.

They are not the same, I have seen 2 versions of a few add-ons and they have always been different. It's to help stop illegal copying, all though I feel personally it's not hard to get round. But it does ensure at least one legit copy has been sold, and, to my knowledge, illegal copying isn't too much of a problem in the Trainsim communtiy compared with some others

Different serial codes appeared to be too difficult to organise for someone, so they are all the same now on GE and others.
