problem aboard the Heidi Express!

Post by XPTE »

I recieved the Heidi Express pack from Amazon UK on Saturday. First of all the good points is that it is an excellently produced package - a great route, superb custom scenery and photo realistic stations, suberb trains to drive with great custom cabviews, passenger eye views and engine sounds. However, the slightly negative side of it though is that all the all the activity descriptions and briefings are all in the German language! I knew this anyway, because Asalmon said so in a previous posting. Shouldn't be that much of a problem for the passenger runs but knowing what you're supposed to do in the freight runs/non passenger activities will be a tad difficult.

Anyway, have had a brief go on it. But every time the activity ends because I over run an unmanned level crossing by not blowing the horn in advance of the crossing. I haven't got a clue what the sign looks like that warns to you. To anyone who has this package, could you do me a small favour and post a screenshot of the sign that warns you of an unmanned level crossing? That would be a great help!

Cheers

Here is a snapshot for your convenience.

Is this worth buying? Am very partial to the Rhätische Bahn but saw some negative comment on another post.

Only you can decide that, by reading Mat's review on UKTS and other comments here.

Cheers for that Alan. Will have another drive on the Heidi Express tomorrow I expect.

As for Matt's review of this one, he hasn't done one yet! :) But I would definitely recommend it. A superbly put together package. As long as you don't mind the whole route being single track(with passing points at stations) and a maximum line speed of just 90 km/h then I think you will enjoy it.

I might create an activity or two for it soon and upload it onto UKtrainsim.

Now that I'm back from my hols I intend to get back to some activity creation and I promise that there will be some English ones for the Heidi Express.

Great news - I'll reinstall her when I get home.
